Our stay at Riverside Nest was really blissful. The info provided on the listing was accurate and the place is exactly as shown in the pictures- conveniently setup with all the mentioned amenities. The place was clean and our check-in was hassle free. The house is completely private with plenty of parking space. There are also a couple of general stores nearby for easy access to supplies. The property has a huge backyard that stretches down to the river bank. We spent an afternoon by the bank, watching a few young kids cool off with a swim in the river canal. Quite a rural delight. We took the Tonca ferry ride just next to the property, across the Mandovi river and the views were really wonderful. On our host's suggestion, we visited the Juve Fort. The view of the sunset from the hilltop was truly beautiful. There are a few more places to visit but I believe it's due next time. And finally our host, Eshwar, was polite and easily reachable, looking forward to meeting you again.

Let me begin by saying, Eshwar and his family are wonderful. But the place is a disappointment. It is not the Oasis we were told it is. Read the next paragraphs before you decide to go here. 1. Candola is in the middle of no where. For anything and everything you need to go to Panjim. or Marcel. Extremely inconvenient. Yes, we wanted a not crowded, chilled out experience too but only the cottage is surrounded by people's homes and right next to the main road. The hosts family is also next door which honestly is a bit of a can. 2. The rooms are tiny, the ac is in the bedroom only which makes rest of the house unusable in the heat. it's like an oven. The tv and entertainment is in the living room so unless you want a sauna, you're restricted to bedroom only which has no scope for entertainment. 3. The backyard, which is so beautifully advertised, is not exactly a backyard. It's a short walk from the house towards the river and the bank is filthy. Can't chill here either.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay in Eshwar’s Riverside Nest. The house itself is really well planned and has everything one would need for a longish stay. He goes the extra mile by provided some provisions and spices which helps if you plan to do cooking. The house has a big compound area with lots of fruit trees which is alongside the canal and is a wonderful place to have your morning tea like we did, listening to the birds. The surroundings are very quiet and peaceful. The location is walking distance to quite a few places of interest and is an ideal place for long walks. This place is perfect if you’re looking to rest and relax, and if you wish to explore old Goa. The host, Eshwar and his family are extremely nice hosts, very helpful and available if you need, them while giving you your space. We highly recommend Eshwar’s place for those looking for a low key, peaceful holiday amidst nature. We will be definitely going back for a longer stay.

The place is a product of host Eshwar’s love and labour, something he takes great pride in. We felt very much at home, and had some lovely chats with the friendly, approachable & extremely experienced host. USP of this place is its proximity to the backwaters & ease of travel to small villages, birdwatching spots & sweet spots of old Goa through ferry service. Neighbourhood is peaceful & green. We enjoyed eating breakfasts at a nice pure veg tiffin centre -“C & K Dosa Hut” situated approx.2 kms away at Marcel town. Also there is a local bakery- “ Iyengar Bakery” in the town.

I had a great time at Eshwar's place in Candola. The property is close to a ferry point and is quite accessible. There is ample greenery around the property. The parking space right in front of the house was a convenient feature. Eshwar and his family are very friendly hosts and I look forward to meeting them again soon.
