If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu, this place is perfect. Located in Waimanalo, it is in a rural setting with a 3 min walk to one of the most beautiful beaches on Oahu. The apt is very rustic, be prepared for the bare minimum. It has 1 bedroom and a very basic kitchen. No oven or microwave, but a gas stove top, a Kureig, toaster and electric kettle. You can only run one appliance at a time, the electrical is sketchy. We really enjoyed the private yard, even if it did have roosters crowing at 3 AM. That was fine compared to the clanging of the bamboo wind chime next door. The bedroom has a decent bed and a closet with maybe 5 hangars. The front room has one chair and a futon bed. As other reviews have mentioned, this bed is hard as a rock. We bought a folding table since there was no place to put anything in the front room but the floor. Also, no hooks or racks in the bathroom to hang your clothes/towels while showering. It also needs outside lighting.

A little slice of heaven! Incredible location, private peaceful yard. The beach is super close, very walkable, and it's wonderful to come home to a private, quiet space afterwards. This place was exactly as we expected, rustic and simple, no frills living. If you are looking for a resort vacation, this is not for you, but if you want a more authentic Hawaiian local experience, I can't recommend this place enough. As others have said, the bed is quite firm, but we found the combination of swimming daily and the firm bed to be fine for our backs. The location and the simplicity were exactly what we were craving. Feed the wild chickens and enjoy the free feathery alarm clocks. Alex and Grace were very friendly, helpful, and responsive.

The secluded bungalow was within walking distance of an almost private beach! We could hear the ocean from our porch.

The location can’t be beat! And very affordable for those unable to afford the high end places along the beach. The place needs a little TLC as far as amenities but it was comfortable and private. For two retired women it was perfect. Thank you Alex for hosting.
