Overall good place. Excellent location. Take care of mosquitoes though. Beware of loud music next door going on till late night. Other wise hospitable staff and comfortable place to stay

Villa Helena is a charming boutique property and Geraldine is a pleasant host. However our stay had its share of hiccups. Sudha, the property manager is somewhat cold, and hardly ever breaks character to smile. The property doesn’t offer room service or on call housekeeping and since the reception is unmanned (any time other than 10am to 4pm) we had to go down to the restaurant for water refills, and a small request like a squeeze of lemon and a spoon of honey (as one of us had a bad throat). These requests were billed to our room (without being conveyed to us) as “fresh lime water”, water bottles (which we assumed should be complimentary with our stay). The breakfast offered is limiting and since one of us was vegetarian and diabetic, had nothing to eat other than the bread basket. On our first day, we requested the restaurant staff and Sudha to help us with some cheese and tomatoes so we can make our own sandwich but they refused promptly and unapologetically. Later in the day, we took it up with Geraldine and she was happy to oblige us for the rest of our stay. A word of caution, your stay will include hidden charges. The restaurant offers croissants every other day and on one occasion we requested for a couple extra which were billed to our room, again, without our knowledge. Nevertheless, the rooms are neat, the location is to die for, the terrace, which we had to ourselves is relaxing and Geraldine is easy to communicate with :)

We had the loveliest stay at Villa Helena. Geraldine went out of her way to assist with the booking (I had made mistakes in the reservation and could only work it out because of her support). The staff at Villa Helena are equally wonderful. The villa itself is a gorgeous colonial building with a lot of original furniture and decor - a dream for an architecture enthusiast like me. Such a wonderful stay - one of the best so far through Air BnB
