Truly wonderful weekend stay at the hut, beautifully kitted out and immensely peaceful and private. Felt bigger than the pictures and every detail so well thought through. The pigsty bbq was also such a treat - we bbqed sausages from the farm as part of our dinner on the first night, and treated ourselves to roasted marshmallows after a local evening out on the second. We were so pleased to be visited by a barn owl friend at dusk too. Recommend the pretty and secluded walks down to the stream and into Slaley Forest. Perfect stay, thank you
The shepherds hut was a great place to stay. So peaceful and quiet. the place was fully equiped with everything needed for a couple of days away from the hustle of real life. Located in its own field with the local wildlife. Mark and Beth offered us the chance to buy spme home reared pork. it was delicious. They were very easy to correspond with and very very responsive. The information in and about the hut and surrounding areas was 1st class.
Mark and Beth have created a gem of a place. From the location, to the decor, to all the little touches, it was all perfect. We particularly loved the pigsty across from the hut where we lit a fire both nights spending hours eating, drinking and listening to music (and the wildlife!) in the most idyllic surroundings, even with the gale force winds! As others have said, wellies are a must to get from the car to the hut! Communication from booking to arrival was spot on and the hut guide was incredibly helpful. It really was the most wonderful couple of days, I can’t recommend Mark and Beth’s place enough. Thank you for some amazing memories!
