Owl cottage was just as described . The under floor heating was a nice touch ! The constant hot water was lovely ( lots of properties have limited hot water ) Neil came over when I had an issue with my WiFi , which was a nice surprise as often you don’t actually get to meet the owners ! The cottage had everything you need, it was warm and cosy , clean and tidy and quiet apart from the geese honking but you can’t make birds keep quiet ! Other than that ,a Very nice property .

We absolutely loved our stay at Barn Owl Lodge. Although it was one of a few properties at Millfields, it also felt very private. Even so, Neil was always on hand if there was a problem. The cottage was perfect for us as it was all on one level and had two double bedrooms. We loved the modern log burner . It was very easy to use and added a cosy feel . Much needed as the Derbyshire weather wasn’t kind . Really wet and windy. That with the Christmas tree , made staying in a treat . The kitchen was really well equipped with plenty of pots, pans and good quality crockery. We particularly appreciated the abundance of foil trays for cooking our Christmas dinner. There’s nothing negative to say about our stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it . Definitely a great place to return to .

Barn Owl was perfect for us! It felt homely and had everything we needed. The beds were comfy, there were plenty of towels, there was lots of space for us to store our clothes, toiletries, food and other bits. The location is perfect with Carsington Water a couple hundred meters down the road and if you’ve got young lids, everything you can imagine is a stones throw away!Cannot recommend Neil and the cottages enough.

Really lovely property in a gorgeous location. The lodge had everything you could need and the appliances and crockery were of high quality. A comfortable stay in beautiful surroundings.
