Susan was friendly and accomodating at short notice. A great place to stay overnight. Would definitely go back to explore the area. The cottages are in a great location and very peaceful.

What an amazing place with an amazing host!! From coming out to meet me when I drove in to showing me around the cottage Susan was fantastic. Important information was on a laminated card on the fridge. The kitchen had everything you could need to cook, she even has a full bottle of washing up liquid with cleaning cloths and tea towels. Tea,coffee and sugar were there. Bonus! Bed was comfy, there was instant hot water, the lounge had plenty of seating, a tv and dvd player with lots of films to choose from but I doubt you’ll need it as there is so much to do here. You’re surrounded by beautiful countryside and history! If you have dogs this is THE place to stay! My two loved it there. They have paddocks you can exercise your dogs in or you can walk straight up the hill to Hadrian’s Wall!! It’s a 5 minute drive if you want to save your legs for the trails. Just loved watching the sun rise over the hills. So peaceful here. We will be back!! It’s 5 stars from us!

we stayed in Wrens Nest which is small but cosy for a short stay. Friendly host and lovely surroundings and great for dogs with private field for them to excercise.

Thanks to Susan for a comfortable stay. We were put into one of the larger cottages than originally booked which was a nice surprise and allowed us a bit more comfort. Everything there really that you might need - shower, towels, clean bedding, good kitchen. Anything lacking we had with us from a couple of days camping previously. The accommodation is a little dated, but very comfortable and peaceful. The wifi signal was poor, but we were there to escape much of that so we didn't mind. Enough phone signal in the area for most uses. There was a shared yard with the neighbouring cottage, but we didn't much use this as we were out and about. Plenty of animals on the site for kids to see - friendly horses, goats, emu's, chickens, ducks and geese. Location great for accessing much of Hadrian's Wall and only a few minutes from Haltwhistle in the car. There looked like a nice walk to the town also, but we didn't get chance to do that. I would definitely recommend.
