My place is close to great views of the sea at the end of Loch Sunart. The lodges are right by the sea with a slipway down to the beach... My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets). Nestled in the Scottish Highlands, surrounded by nature and far away from all the distractions of modern life, are our two luxurious self catering lodges. The lodge will be your 5-star retreat for the duration of your stay. It’s blessed with a fantastic location on the shores of Loch Sunart, right in the heart of Ardnamurchan’s unspoilt natural landscape. Through every window is a breath-taking view and behind every door is a comfortable and high-quality accommodation. We’ll prepare your lodge ahead of time, so everything will be ready for you, whenever you arrive. The only thing left for you to do is settle in to your home away from home and start enjoying your holiday!
Outstanding location and a great base to explore. The views are amazing and if you’re looking for some peace and tranquillity this is the place for you. Daniel was a great host and gave us some great walking route suggestions and information on the local wildlife. All in all a fantastic trip and I would highly recommend this property. I hope to visit again soon.
We had a fantastic family holiday at this lovely house. Daniel was an extremely helpful and responsive host - before the holiday he sent us some great local recommendations of things to do, and he met us on arrival and gave us a full tour of the house and a chat through local geography and wildlife. The house is in a beautiful location overlooking the loch, and feels very private as it’s surrounded by trees. Having direct private access to the bay was great and made it so easy to get out on the water. The inside of the house is lovely, very comfortable and warm with lots of thoughtful features like the electric rack to dry wet boots. It had everything we needed to cook for the week. We hadn’t spent much time in Ardnamurchan before so really enjoyed exploring - we went up Ben Hiant with great views, to the beautiful beach at Sanna, to Castle Tioram, and many other beaches and walks. A perfect relaxing break.
This is a great base for a 'get away from it all' kind of break if you like peace and tranquillity. It has every conceivable amenity and is extremely comfortable and spacious for six people. The views are fantastic with an abundance of wildlife, some of which literally comes to your doorstep. Dan was very welcoming and helpful but we didn't specifically need to contact him during our stay. We are keen to return if the opportunity arises. For any family or friends who wish to explore this fabulous part of Scotland and live luxuriously, I would highly recommend this property.
We had a most wonderful week at Dan’s house in Ardnamurchan with so many fabulous walks and wildlife adventures. The pine martin and wood mouse came to visit every night and we enjoyed the lovely large living space and also sitting round the fire pit on the big veranda. Dan gave us some great walking suggestions and also managed to source a large bag of langoustines for our supper one evening which were excellent. I would recommend a trip to the Treshnish Islands and Staffa as well as supper at the Salen Hotel. You really don’t have to go far to experience the beauty of Ardnamurchan from Oak Lodge. We recorded over 40 bird species over our week there and lots more.
Fantastic Lodge with everything provided that you can think of to make your stay easy and comfortable. Lodge is situated on a breathtaking Loch and breathtaking views from every window. It is remote but well worth the journey for peace, quiet and relaxation. The sky at night is worth the journey alone. We look forward to staying again!!
You choose whether you want to unwind in this spectacular secluded setting, or seize the opportunity to get active and explore. Sitting on the most westerly peninsula of the UK’s mainland, which juts out dramatically into the Atlantic Ocean, is Ardnamurchan. Some consider it to be like Eden. This part of the west coast of Scotland is still wild and exciting. It boasts magical rugged landscapes, ancient woodlands and wildlife thrives here. When you visit, it’s as if you’ve stepped back in time to the days of Celtic legends.
These picturesque Scottish shores are one of the best kept secrets in the British Isles. With ancient castles, peaceful lochs and white-sand beaches around every corner – all framed by the scenery is guaranteed to grab your attention and the warm, welcoming locals will steal your heart.
Corran Ferries run crossings from Onich near Fort William to Ardnamurchan every day and Caledonian MacBrayne ferries connect Ardnamurchan with the Isle of Mull. You don’t need to book in advance, but keep in mind that there is no night service, so make sure you arrange to travel before the sun sets.
The A82 can be accessed from Glasgow and Stirling to the south or from Fort William and Inverness from the north. Be careful as you get closer to the lodges, the more rural roads around Ardnamurchan are often single track. But you can always pull over and breathe in the local scenery if you want a break from driving.
Trains and buses run regularly from Fort William to Ardnamurchan. The local Citylink bus service provides national routes as well as local public transport and Scotrail offers plenty of trains for England, even sleeper services on some trains from London.
