Thank you Debbie for a wonderful stay. From the moment we walked through the door we loved the atmosphere of the entire place. Super comfy beds, quirky decor features, lovely home touches and every room smelt amazing. As a host Debbie ensured we had many recommendations and clear instructions were given upfront. Location is pleasantly quiet to say how close to the main walkway you are and the neighbours were friendly. Lovely Birthday trip, topped off with being lucky with the sunshine weather!

Beautiful, authentic cottage which was lovely and clean. Amazing beds with quality linen. Never slept so well anywhere else. Lots of lovely touches. Pillow spray, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, hand soap. Kitchen was fully stocked with condiments and tea,coffee and sugar. Close to beaches, restaurants and everything seaside. I cannot recommend enough. Debbie is a very good host and stayed in touch with us.

Debbie was a fantastic host from the start. She sent very clear instructions ahead along with LOTS of great recommendations for things to do, walks to go on and restaurants for breakfast, lunch, dinner & a Sunday roast. As well as all of that, Shipmates Cottage was a brilliant place to stay. The house was perfect for 4 adults and our pup. The living and sleeping areas are lovely and cosy, the kitchen and bathroom are both fitted out stylishly and with great modern facilities. The house is also decorated in a lovely traditional and yet up-to-date style. I cannot praise Debbie and this house highly enough. One thing I forgot to note in the guestbook - we drove 4 miles to the Farrier in Clayton for Sunday dinner, and it was the best roast I've ever eaten in a restaurant. I would definitely recommend booking yourselves in!

As others have said, cannot fault it. Perfect position, and a very cozy stay. The only issue we had was with the tv. Being smart only with no freeview. Took us a day to work out how to use it as the instructions are not that clear if you are not used to all the apps. It didn't spoil our time there though.

Debbie knows her town and made great recommendations. Place was so cosy, hubby did not want to leave! Hot shower & well-appointed kitchen full of herbs, spices, & teas. Little glassed-in display case of artifacts found during renovation was fascinating as were the period photographs of the old town & its people.
