A great, quiet retreat at the edge of Darien, where Cathead Creek cuts through and offers views of the marshes. It’s well-equipped, and the screen porch was a particular attraction in the evenings. Would definitely recommend.

This was our first visit to Darien. The cottage was perfect! The screened in porch was amazing! We enjoyed fishing off the dock, and we caught a few catfish. Highly recommend this property!

We loved the cottage and will definitely be coming back. Very peaceful right there in the water beneath the live oaks!!!! Loved it, well done!!!

The house was clean, felt new, and the view is lovely. The screened porch is the highlight of the house. The dock, listed as an amenity, is actually behind the house next door. No one seemed to be at that house, so perhaps it is the owner's property as well, but it felt a bit like intruding onto private property to go onto that dock. This is less of a criticism and more of a suggestion to the owner to make dock access more clear in their listing, because it's a great feature of the property. The only real negative to this house's location is that it is situated between 3 major roads, two of which can be seen in the distance from the porch or dock. It doesn't detract from the view, but there is a constant low drone of traffic, especially in the master. The owner provided white noise machines, which are helpful, but I felt I should add this to my review since it is not addressed in the description or any other reviews. I would still recommend the house, just be prepared for some noise.
