Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Our son attends UGA and we realize how difficult it is for families to find lodging to visit their students. Our garage apartment is the perfect place to stay when coming into town for events. Local dining is 10-17 minutes away and UGA is 17 miles with a typically thirty minute drive. Come see your student and then go antique shopping, hiking, or enjoy local festivities. Our beautiful front porch overlooks our pond that houses a goose and duck, our fire pit is perfect to cook s’mores, our creek and woods path behind the home is a relaxing setting, and the beautiful pastoral driveway down the front of the farm is home to our horses .

Liz is an amazing host! She ensured we had everything we needed for the weekend. She even offered us travel coffee mugs when we were rushing off to get to campus. The Dawg House was spotless and had everything we needed. It is quaint and cute and only 30 minutes away from the UGA campus.

This is a gorgeous location in the countryside. The unit is wonderful, quiet, pretty, and well appointed. Liz and her husband were very helpful and available if we needed anything. Being able to see the horses, hang out by the stream and then also not too far from Athens was great. (I was there for my son's graduation from business school). The ONE thing: the address is 3305 Jack Glass Road. Liz will tell you to put 3310 Jack Glass Rd in your map because 3305 will take you to the back of the property. That is correct... just be sure that when you get to 3310, do NOT go there. Look across the road and you will see the driveway for 3305. Take that driveway.

Since I have started staying at available Airbnb's, I have found and continue to find they are exactly what I need. Without listing all the advantages of an Airbnb versus a hotel/motel room rental, I will just say there is no comparison. If you know what you are looking for, an Airbnb rental is simply better. In my case, my rental from Liz in Monroe, Georgia reinforces my faith in Airbnb's. If you are going to be in Athens, Georgia or any of the surrounding areas, I highly recommend THE DAWG HOUSE in Monroe, Georgia. In closing, a 5 star rating for the THE DAWG HOUSE in Monroe Georgia is exactly what I needed to give. This rating has been earned and I recommend anyone to stay there without hesitation. Fast food, restaurants, and a movie theater are a 10 minute drive to Bethlehem. Antique shopping, craft brewing, and eclectic restaurants are 17 minutes away in Monroe. UGA is a 30(ish) minute drive. We are in a rural part of the area and the home is next door to a small cattle farm, but far from chicken farms. Fort Yargo is a 15 minute drive and is a great place to hike, paddle board, or Kayak.
