Enjoy bird watching and the roar of howler monkeys from a private balcony while taking in the sunrise over the steam draped valley and Golfo Dulce below. Take advantage of our 120 acre private nature preserve, hiking our maintained rainforest trails, or cooling off in pools below our various private waterfalls. Unwind with a hot bath in the cool evening air while listening to the jungle. Elegant, private and peaceful, our rainforest villa will be a highlight of any trip to the Osa Peninsula. Comfortable and modern two story villa features a kitchen and living space on the main level. The second level has one bedroom with two queen beds, and a beautiful bathroom with a soaker tub. The bedroom and living room both have ceiling fans and our higher altitude offers a nice breeze and very comfortable sleeping temperatures. The kitchen has a four burner gas stove top, full fridge with freezer, cooking utensils including potato peeler and grater. A set of fry pans and pots, dishes, cutlery, knives, glasses, wine glasses. We do not have an oven. We provide coffee, milk, sugar, salt, pepper, cooking oil, and a few complimentary snacks to get you started. The grocery store is a 10 minute drive away and there are many local restaurants in La Palma or Playa Blanca offering good food.

The place is a gem. The house looks exactly like the pics and is surrounded by fruit trees and tropical flowers encircled by rainforest in every direction. Down a hill from the house, a number of amazing waterfalls offer a gorgeous, refreshing respite from the heat. Ashley and Andrew were impeccable hosts, and fun to get to know a bit. The road there is pretty rocky with potholes and occasional fallen trees, but after you’ve driven it once, you get used to it (and I think we even started to enjoy the adventure of it). I wish I had remembered to grab some groceries on the way in, because once we arrived we realize there was little reason to leave (except we did go on a tour of Corcovado one day, which was definitely worth it). All in all, it was awesome and I didn’t want to leave!
We had a great time. The property is beautiful and there a lots of places to explore. We had a little trouble finding the entrance during the night, but Ashley was very helpful. Overall we had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend this Airbnb :)
Alles war soweit perfekt! Die Umgebung ist wirklich die Reise wert. Der Ort ist einzigartig. Das Haus ist genauso wie im Inserat beschrieben. Die Natur war unbeschreiblich schön… Wir hätten uns ein wenig mehr Zugewandtheit seitens der Gastgeber gewünscht. Niemand hat sich bei unserem Checkout nach uns erkundigt. Zum Glück hat der freundliche Gärtner sich herzlich von uns verabschiedet.
2ème séjour dans cette propriété merveilleuse une habitation de rêve avec une superbe vue, oiseaux et autres au rendez vous de jour comme de nuit... Ashley et Andrew toujours très présent pour rendre service. Vous cherchez un endroit calme et dépaysant il est ici 👍
We had an amazing time at this beautiful place! We have traveled a lot through the world, but that was one of the most special places. Ashley and Andrew are super nice and we felt at home there. The property, the jungle, animals, great views from the balcony, a swim in one of the waterfalls….a place to relax and calm down and enjoy the stunning nature of Costa Rica and Corcovado! Thank you also for the night walk in the river, which was a real experience. We definitely recommend staying here, if you like nature and being away from the masses of tourists! Very private jungle nature reserve in Riyito, just outside of La Palma. We are in the Golfo Dulce Forest Reserve and our property borders, Corcovado National Park. We are close to Playa Blanca beach, and about 45 minutes to Drake Bay, or 35 minutes to Puerto Jimenez.
We are about 25 minutes away from Rancho Quemado, but Costa Rica doesn't use addresses very well, and when we pin our actual location this is the town that is given.
Rental car is recommended as we are about 10 km to town. All wheel drive is handy in Costa Rica and a SUV is recommended for clearance, although generally from December until April a 2 wheel car drive will be ok.
A well maintained gravel road leads all the way to the property although it is not shown on any map yet. There is a clear sign at the base of the access road.

Originally from Canada, we moved to Costa Rica in 2018 to live our dream. We started with our original property purchase of about 20 acres, built a road, a power system, a water system, our main house, shop and now our first luxury rental. We have also been working to protect this beautiful area surrounding our property and now have our own private reserve of over 120 acres.
