The location is absolutely stunning, the waterfront views/access to the beach/river are perfect. There are full panoramic views of the water from the main bedroom, the living room, the porch, and the dock. Everywhere you look is gorgeous with a lovely beach, lots of exploring to do, rocks to climb on, and swimming and kayaking were very easy. The style and decor of the home is lovely, very rustic, and traditional Maine. If you're looking for nostalgic charm, this house has it! I will probably want to rent this house again. That all being said, I have only one complaint: the house was NOT clean when we arrived. I gave it 3 stars for cleanliness. The floor was covered with crumbs, and hair, and looked as if it had not been vacuumed in quite a while! There were food fingerprints on the fridge handle. I contacted Vacasa and they sent someone out the next day and they vacuumed and mopped, which made all the difference! I appreciate them remediating the problem.

Great place to unplug and recharge right on the water. Well equipped kitchen with everything needed to prepare a feast. Lots of games for the kids, a library, and binoculars to watch for seals and porpoises. Communication was prompt and they had no shortage of sunblock, bug spray and other amenities. Would 100% stay again! This is not a modern, updated house - no AC or dishwasher, etc. If you are looking for all that, move along ;) For our family it was perfect!

It was a beautiful cottage & the location was amazing! I would say the check in was unclear with no lockbox just an unlocked door. We had to turn on the hot water tank. Instructions were not directly in sight concerning garbage & other directions for the use of the cottage. It did take from approximately 9pm until 12:00pm for a response to my question & thankfully before that my husband was able to turn on the hot water or we wouldn’t have it for dishes & showers the next morning. All in all a lovely place to stay & we would stay here again. Communication could be improved.

Beautiful location and private beach. The indoors is much older and more “rustic” than it appears in the listing. Could use some updating.

A quaint clean cabin with amazing location. The view out of the master bedroom is spectacular to wake up to. Private, quiet beach with a sunning deck and porch overlooking the water completes the scene. Just 15 minutes to Thomaston/Rockland for all of your dining and shopping needs.
