If you want a unique and incredibly peaceful place to stay this is it. It’s away from distractions and incredibly peaceful. The bees experience and the time at the waterfall were very special! Great memories were made.

If you are looking for a place to watch the sun set and rise, listen to nature and go for walks, then this is an excellent rental. If you are a dog lover, you will get your fill! There are 3 dogs on the property that will want your attention. If you are cooking, you will have them staring in the door. So, if you are not fond of puppers, this may not be a place for you. It is off grid living. Many places in Hawaii are. However, bring a headlamp for nightly power outages and there is no light when you pull in. Also, start the coffee maker with care! That will kill the power quickly. Best to not have someone taking a shower at that time. We had the power fail most mornings even if we were being conservative and not running anything else. This can make your coffee drinkers a bit grumpy! But - we were up and out early to go explore the island. If you are fine with getting a late start to the morning after the sun is shinning, you won’t have this issue.

Tina’s place has a gorgeous view of the Pacific and access to amazing waterfalls! The home is very clean. We appreciated Tina and Vern’s kind hospitality and time in taking us to a nearby waterfall. Tina’s personal kitchen and sitting area is immediately beside the home.

Tina is a warm and a lovely host and made sure our stay was comfortable and we felt right at home. The location is out of the world with nature and ocean all around. The private waterfall is a must visit and make sure to take a dip in the water. Highly recommend the place and will definitely stay here again if I am visiting Hilo. The two lovely dogs made our day brighter once we got up every single day :)

We had just a few short days at Crickets place, and during that time we got to go visit the waterfall and get an up-close experience with her bees. To say it was anything less than amazing would be a lie. Cricket was so friendly she makes you feel like you’re not visiting but you’re back home. You can’t beat the amazing view, the access to a beautiful and serene waterfall, and the potential to see some bees and maybe even jar and take home some of the freshest and tastiest honey there is. We already started planning a trip back before we even left! You need to come here if you have the chance!
