Our Black Cabin is a perfect place to be amazed, relaxed and enjoy Iceland's nature at its best. The area speaks for it self as it is located in the middle of the south Icelandic countryside, close to spectacular sights such as Geysir, Þingvellir National Park, the Gullfoss waterfall and many other must see places when experiencing Iceland. The view is magnificent and allows guests to experience the Icelandic nature and mountains in its true form.

Wir haben zu zweit 10 Tage in diesem gemütlichen Häusschen verbracht. Es ist modern eingerichtet (Induktionsherd) das Wohnzimmer ist sehr gemütlich, das Bad modern und die Betten bequem. Von der schönen grossen Terrasse hat man eine wunderschönen Panoramablick. Man fühlt sich als wäre man alleine auf der Welt. Wir habe jeden Tag das heisse Bad auf der Terrasse genossen und einmal dabei Polarlichter beobachten können. Alles sehr sauber und gepflegt, ein Ort zum verweilen. Sehr empfehlenswert!
This cabin is absolutely beautiful and quite impressive. It is in a gated road and feels very secluded. To get there you drive up a single lane bumpy track so were happy to have a 4x4. The location is great for privacy and for exploring this area of Iceland. Lots is within a half hour drive including secret lagoon and our favourite, Fontana spa. There is a shop in Laugarvatn around 25 mins away (which is close for Iceland). We did a lot of cooking here but only discovered a full set of utensils in a second drawer on the final day so keep looking. There was no cooking oil though so come stocked up. The highlight is the hot tub with a panoramic view - lovely to relax in. Its very hot so take the lid off an hour or more before you want to use it and test it before you jump in! Its full of naturally hot spring water. The only downside for us was that all of the water seems to be thermal spring water so has a strong sulfur smell. We would bring bottled drinking water next time.
This cabin is perfect for couples. My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay in this cute cabin. It was pretty easy to find but you’d definitely want a 4x4 to drive up the last road. The cabin was very clean and cozy and looks exactly like the pictures. The back has a great view of mountains and we were able to watch the northern lights from the hot tub our last night. The host were friendly and quick to respond to any questions and they gave a list of recommendations for food and activities close by. We would definitely stay again.
Great place to visit Iceland. The view is outstanding. It is even better with all the snow around.
What a view! Amazing, peaceful house that’s warm and cozy. We enjoyed the views and the quiet. Close to the geyser and Thingvellir. Would recommend and stay again!

The Cabin is located in Úthlíð which is within the amazing Golden Circle. Within five minutes drive you reach the Geysir landmark and within 15 minutes you can visit the Gullfoss waterfall. Also you can find various hidden gems within the area, such as Fridheimar, Secret Lagoon and the Fontana Spa in Laugarvatn. While driving towards the Cabin you can drive through the Thingvellir National Park. This place is a great base for daytours in the south coast of Iceland in a beautiful quiet nature with a spectacular view.
During the winter and in clear weather, Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) can be seen dancing in the sky from the patio and the hot tub.
Driving from Reykjavík you can either choose to drive through Thingvellir National Park, which is the shortest way and also the most beautiful, or through Selfoss if you want to make a stop there to buy groceries, dine, go to the swimming pool or do other things.
The drive from Reykjavík to the cabin is around 1 hour, but it might take a bit longer during winter time.
