si vous voulez du "roots" , c'est là qu'il faut venir . sangsues à l'arrivée , eau froide , feu de cheminée , vue magnifique . si vous voulez boire un coup, prévenir à l'avance et sortir le porte-monnaie!!! un peu cher dans l'ensemble mais marrant !!

Amazing remote location camping in the mountains with fantastic views. If you like nature and simple living you should stay here! The tent accomodation is really cosy and you may even share your bathroom with a few small frogs! The outdoor shower has a great view. Amila and team looked after us really well, Amila is very friendly and kind, a great guy to talk to. The food the chef made was amazing ( even if there was so much we couldn't eat it all!), especially as we were so far in the mountains and everything has to be brought in. Shermal organised us a guide to trek up Knuckles Peak 1 and 2 with wonderful views from the top. The guide was excellent with a huge knowledge of plants, animals and birds. It can be cold and wet so we needed warm clothes and rain gear one day, but the fire in the dining area is lovely in the evening to keep warm by. We loved our stay here although it is hard to find..luckily our driver communicated on the phone with Amila to get directions along the way.

Shortly, it was WOW. You will never find a place like this. It is hard to get to, as the road can seem tricky, but it’s worth it, definitely. The tents are so cozy, you feel being the part of the nature itself when living there. The food. It was definitely our best dinner in Sri Lanka. Always different, but extremely tasty. Shermal is a professional chef, for sure!! Also, Shermal was very helpful and responsive on every possible level: he helped us to organize the transfers, met us at the venue, told us a lot about Sri Lanka and Knuckles, was always there when we needed. We will never forget this amazing experience! It felt like home, but at the same time it felt like a place you can never find elsewhere. We will definitely come again!

Nous recherchions un endroit non touristique au cœur de la nature et nous avons trouvé ce coin de paradis. Shermal est un hôte incroyable qui vous fera découvrir la région mais également la cuisine locale. En effet, du déjeuner au souper, nous avons été plus que conquis. Ce logement convient aux amoureux de la nature qui aiment prendre des douches au cœur de la montagne et dormir sous la belle étoile et sous le chant des oiseaux. Étant donné l’authenticité de ce logement, les prix sont bien plus élevés qu’ailleurs (au Sri Lanka).

Ons verblijf bij Shermal was het hoogtepunt van onze reis. De omgeving is adembenemend en de gezellige cabin werd met oog voor detail afgewerkt. Voor ons was buiten douchen met water uit een natuurlijke bron gevolgd door een warm theetje in alle rust en stilte, de hemel op aarde. ‘s Avonds aten we bij Shermal ook één van de lekkerste maaltijden die we hadden in Sri Lanka. Overdag deden we een prachtige 6 hour walk in the Knuckles Range met een lokale gids, jungle book vibes garanteed! Deze ervaring wil je niet missen :-)
