The photos of the house are much nicer than the house really is. The cleaning was poor, dust everywhere, bathroom was dirty and shower and sink taps rusty, cutlery, pots and pans all burnt, dirty and rusty. The garden is abandoned: there is no green grass, the few plants are left dead, there are piles of tree leaves and broken flower pots, rubbish in the garden. There are termites destroying the wooden terrace furniture and the pool table. There are spider webs with spiders in the kitchen walls. There was a cockroach crawling out of the coffee machine. There was no electricity until 3rd day of our stay - due to unpaid bills! There is salty water in the showers. The forest footpath to Maderas beach is closed, the walk on dusty unpaved roads takes about 15 min from the house. If you don’t have your own transport, there are “shuttles” to SJDS for $7 return. There’s construction in front of the building On the positive side the house has nice sunset and sea views.

Nice house with several private rooms, walkable distance to Playa Maderas (about 15 minutes). We stayed for about a week and had an enjoyable time, but it wasn't without its issues. The place is a bit more run-down than the pictures suggest - I assume they were taken a few years ago. Some of the things (faucets, curtains, floor etc.) are fairly dirty and rusty compared to the pictures. The salty water is a bit unfortunate, but is mentioned in the listing. I also had trouble with the wifi (we were at the furthest, left most room) and ended up just using data instead, with work fine (Tigo, 4G). None of the issues above would be a deal breaker, but since this isn't a budget listing, there is a room for improvement. The host, Jessica, is very responsive and kindly let us check-in early.

We really enjoyed our stay at Jessica’s place. She was a great host, extremely relaxed and knowledgeable. The place had great views, kitchen, ac, wifi and was better than described. It was in a great location close to the beach, shuttle to SJDS and the local restaurants and bars. The Casa was very relaxed and organised and is perfect for a long or short stay. We enjoyed our time there very much and would not hesitate to return.

El servicio sanitario de la habitación se encuentra totalmente deteriorado y sucio, no creo que lo hayan lavado nunca, el lavamanos estaba obstruido por cabello y en general todo requiere mantenimiento y limpieza. Lo único bueno del lugar es la vista increíble que tiene.

Our stay at Jessica‘s Place was super nice. We loved the view and sunsets from there. To go to the beach, there‘s a path trough the forest. We really liked it there and we felt at home
