Escape to the serene and picturesque beauty of Eastern North Carolina at this lovely riverfront property! The private dock allows for easy access to the river, while the back yard provides fun outdoor entertainment opportunities with yard games and a hammock under the shade of a magnificent southern live oak. If the weather is not cooperating, don't worry, stay in and play a round of foosball or air hockey. The views of the river offer amazing sunsets and glimpses of the local wildlife. The main entrance and living area are located on the 2nd floor. Follow the lighted path towards the back stairs where you are greeted by an inviting screened in porch and keyless entry pad. As you enter, the dining and living room areas welcome you with a cozy vibe that says "relax!" Open to the dining and living area, the kitchen is outfitted with pots, pans, and utensils you need to start cooking your first meal. Past the kitchen, there are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, stocked with extra linens, towels, TV's and basic toiletries (.i.e., shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer). Use the spiral staircase to go down the stairs where you will find the laundry room, game room, office, and lounge ready for fun and additional sleepers. Now step back outside. The outdoor space has a barbecue grill with propane gas on one side and charcoal on the other. We stock barbecue utensils in the kitchen and a propane tank is connected and filled (charcoal not included) so you can get right to grilling. We recently added a hot tub comfortable for 5 people to soak while watching the sunset. There's also the dock, when in summer months and the tide is high, you can fish or crab. Use the frisbee, corn hole, yard dice, as well as basketball court in the front and enjoy the outdoors!

This is my first time ever leaving a review. The Salty River Oaks is worth it! Curtis and Nacrina have put so much thought into this property. It felt like home but with all the extra amenities. My family of 7 and our one dog stayed there. We had plenty of space and there were a lot of activities to entertain all five of our kiddos raging from 17 to 5. I specifically enjoyed the screened in porch while my husband fished from the dock. The sunset views at this place are beautiful. If you are looking for a place that is relaxing with all the extra amenities, then don’t look any further. Curtis and Nacrina do a great job at communicating. We had a few questions before we arrived, and they were quick to answer and gave us some tips we were looking for. We’ll definitely be back to stay here again!

We loved staying here. Curtis and Nacrina have gone above and beyond to provide a relaxing and comfortable home for guests to stay in. There are many small details that you can tell they’ve spent a large amount of time on. We were looking to get away for a few days, and this house ticked all the boxes for us. The location, view, comfort, cleanliness, and amenities were all spot on. The game room was fun, and the hot tub was great…we look forward to coming back here again! Welcome to the Crystal Coast!
You have found the right place to try an abundance of water activities. The White Oak River flows into the Intra-Coastal Waterway (ICW) also known as the "sound." Boaters, jet skiers, and kayakers move their way up and down the sound to go and park on various islands and sand bars or into the Atlantic ocean. You can visit the beach this way or you can take a car ride to Emerald Isle and park at the following public access sites (seasonal prices apply):
- Western Regional Access (12 mins)
- Bogue Inlet Fishing Pier (13 mins)
Ferry rides are available to visit some islands. Check out Hammocks Beach State Park site for current ferry schedules.
During spring months, you can watch dolphin pods swimming by. Take a kayak ride to the nearby sound and you may have one right next to you. Are you a bird lover? White Ibis, Great egrets, blue herons and all kinds of waterfowl can be found flying by. Want to experience more, visit some of our favorite hiking trails nearby (Note: travel times are by car):
- Boathouse Creek Walking Trails and Kayak Launch (4 mins)
- Cedar Point Tideland Trail (5 mins)
- Emerald Isle Woods Park (10 mins)
- Hammocks Beach State Park (8 mins)
Our street is located off HWY 24 which takes you back and forth between Morehead City and Jacksonville, NC.
