The house was very neat and kept warm when we checked-in (the most needed when you stay with kids). The kitchen had almost everything we needed to start our cooking and for our comfortable stay. The washing machine didn't work, when we called the emergency number, they answered immediately and they did send a service person the very next day. However it was not fixed until we left due to some parts issue. We enjoyed our stay in this home and would like to thank Michelle for hosting it well for us.

The location is the star of the show here being just down the lake from Bowness and set in a wooded garden that leads down to the lake. The house itself features three comfortable and well presented bedrooms, though the twin room has a small window that won’t close so the room was cold, luckily we didn’t need to use this one. The large kitchen diner was well equipped and suitable for any meals you want to prepare and looks out over the garden and lake. Upstairs the lounge is cosy with seating for 6, the view across the lake is lovely but sadly the curtains are quite badly torn which wasn’t a great look. The downstairs bathroom featured a large walk in shower with the upstairs bathroom having a bath and no shower, the hot water tap was very loose so span round when trying to operate the tap. Overall we would definitely stay here again. A small investment by the owner would easily turn it into the perfect choice for a stay in the Lake District.

We stayed at Michelle's for a walking holiday with two dogs. The location is nice and peaceful with plenty of outdoor space for the dogs to explore (not completely fenced in). The private access to the lake is a really nice feature (and great for the dogs to have a swim after a muddy walk!). It is just a ten minute drive from restaurants and supermarkets. There is a hotel very close by with a spa where I was able to book a treatment.
