You won’t want to leave this charming, one-of-a-kind place.!! The Gate House CO109AE offers a luxury over night stay with a small enclosed vegetable patch to the rear with outside seating area for your Breakfast or just to relax with a glass of wine. The Gate House is very close to Long Melford just a short drive away, or walk across the fields . There is lots of amenities there,including restaurants cafes and pubs, Also close by is Kentwell Hall and Long Melford Hall which you can visit. The Gate House is a detached former part of the original Victorian house . Now converted to provide a spacious comfortable bedroom and a large shower and Bath room with Toilet . Free Wi-Fi and TV are in the bedroom . Small kitchenette fridge ,microwave , continental breakfast with tea and coffee making provided . To the rear is a walled garden area .with patio table and chairs . Park outside or Under cover parking is provided further down the drive. Free to walk the 6 acres of garden ,covered Barbecue area with seating, small lake We will provide pain au chocolate and a selection of cereals for breakfast with fresh milk.

The House was beautiful and so, so private and the surroundings were spectacular. The house itself is so well thought through, very authentically put together and was presented beautifully.
The Gatehouse is set in beautiful surroundings and while close to a main road is remarkably quiet and peaceful. The bird song morning and evening was beautiful. An excellent retreat The accommodation is comfortable and relaxing. The walled garden is a wonderful spot for a glass of wine on a sunny afternoon - and there was one of those moments in late April. Bruce was very helpful and responded quickly to any queries I had.
Just perfect, a lovely relaxing break with privacy, birdsong and a lovely garden. Beautiful place to chill out.
Lovely cottage for a total getaway especially the enclosed garden which you could sit with a glass of wine of wine and enjoy the birds singing and chill out.
A small but very lovely place to stay with comfortable and clean furnishings and bathroom. Set in beautiful gardens and with a friendly and sociable host. Options for eating out in Long Melford are varied and good. Would stay again.

Long Melford is a long established historic village with Melford Hall and Kentwell Hall being of particulate interest and available to view . The Medieval village of Lavenham is just a short drive away . The Gate House is situated in the grounds of approx. Six acres of garden ,Surrounded by farm land. Formal rose gardens with Box Hedging are set either side of the main house . The rear garden has approx four acres of mature trees and small lake .
Long Melford can be reached by walking across the fields or by car . There is parking in the Historic Long Melford high street which boasts being the longest village high street in the country . Parking at the Gate House is provide in a covered Cart Lodge at the end of the drive .

Hi from Bruce and Lauren, We have many shared interests such as gardening and walking our dogs, Lauren lives in the next village along and spends lots of her time with her 12 year old son Oscar James, Lauren loves all things home and garden and enjoys trips to the beach, I Bruce love nothing more than tinkering with old classic cars and spending time in the garden.
