Welcome to Oak Hill! Follow the stepping-stone path to this 2-bedroom lower-level suite that is the perfect place to catch your breath in a beautiful rural setting. The tastefully decorated space has some unique touches, like live-edge shelving and furniture hand-made with wood reclaimed from the property. There is a kitchen, coffee bar, dining / living area, 2 bedrooms, and a full bathroom. Outside, there is a sitting area at the edge of the woods. The main living area consists of a living room with a sectional sofa & 50" smart TV, a dining area with an antique table and chairs, the kitchen & coffee bar, and a desk tucked in one corner to catch up on work. The kitchen includes a full-size stove & refrigerator/freezer, microwave, and is equipped for most home-cooked meals. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed, while Bedroom 2 has both a queen and twin bed. Outside the entry door is a small patio and a yard where you'll enjoy pastoral views of corn fields and dairy cows.

Such a peaceful and beautiful setting out in the countryside but only minutes from a major Highway. The whole place looked as though it had just been renovated. Everything was well marked especially the kitchen where each drawer was labeled with the contents. The hosts were very easy to work with and responsive. The next time I’m in the area I’ll definitely try to stay at this location again!

We attended a wedding at Great Marsh Estate, about 10 minutes from Carna and Dennis's apartment. This was the perfect location and accommodated our 4-person group very well. The apartment is clean and well-decorated, and everything is well-marked so you can find what you need. It's also in a lovely country location. We appreciated the extra snacks and beverages they left for us. And best of all, the communication was excellent...they usually responded to questions within a few minutes. We would definitely recommend staying with them!

Carna and Dennis were the perfect hosts. Though quick to respond to questions, and they made it so easy to just relax! No long list of things to do before exiting. Just a perfect spot when you’re in the area to sleep on a VERY comfortable bed and take in the scenery!

We are an hour’s drive from Washington DC and Charlottesville, and 45 minutes from both Shenandoah National Park and the Manassas Battlefield. There is no shortage of things to do with over 20 wineries within a 40-minute drive, Civil War history locations, The Flying Circus, farmer’s markets, quaint towns, and the best of the Virginia Piedmont and horse country all nearby. If you are traveling through, we are just 3 miles from US Routes 15 & 29, and 6 miles from US Route 17.
The space is in the lower level of our home. Our country setting is complete with the occasional herd of cows across the road (and the smells that go with them!), wild critters both large and small, and bugs that can be a nuisance but are harmless. At night you may hear the owl in the hollow, or the coyotes in the river bottom.

There is a small shopping center with a grocery store, drug store, and several restaurants 6 miles away.
The towns of Warrenton and Culpeper are both a 20 minute drive. There you will find larger shopping options and a greater selection of restaurants.
