Rural, peaceful setting. Millbrook House is connected to the neighbourhood by a long avenue. It is 4 minutes walk from Millbrook Service Station which caters for most domestic and fuel needs. Millbrook Football pitch is also a short walking and driving distance form the house. Sometimes, gaelic (the national version of) football matches are played there, and there is a safe walking path around the pitch. Beside the main pitch is a smaller field which is flanked by lovely shrubs plants and flowers , with benches on which to sit and enjoy this pleasant place.

By car, there are many interesting places to visit, for example, Lough Crew Megalythic Cairns/Tombs (from where 18 counties can be seen on a good day!), Lough Crew Estate Gardens, picturesque and historical, the birth place of St. Oliver Plunkett, Fore village with its ancient and impressive ruins and leisurly "Nellie & Nancy" trail, and the beautiful and calming forest of Mullaghmeen. These places are also easily accessible by bicycle and, indeed, manageable for the avid walker. Taxis are available if required. Oldcastle itself is 2 kilometres from Millbrook House and , 2 minutes walk from the house, a footpath leads the whole way to the town. For drivers, parking is free and there are restaurants, coffee shops, supermarkets, hardware stores etc to visit, as well as the formidable St. Bridget's church with its adjacent parish garden which offers a pleasant retreat from the bustling town.
