We stayed for a weekend whilst visiting Derby Cathedral and Chatsworth House - for the two of us it was absolutely perfect for what we needed. It's described as a "tiny little cottage", but if this was in a hotel it would be called a large suite and at least double the price! The space inside is really cleverly used which means that it maintains its 18th Century character, whilst being comfortable and practical. Location is great - a short walk into the centre of Belper, which is very pretty. If you're looking for something in the area, then stop looking and book this - I can't imagine that you'll find anything better.
We could find no faults with the cottage, and with our hostess. Louise made our stay so comfortable as she had provided everything we needed. I particularly appreciated the emergency torches in the bedside drawers which helped me down the stairs during the night. Very thoughtful. We so enjoyed the wood burning stove, dreaming away one of our evenings gazing at the flames. Louise provided laminated sheets of some of the local walks which really helped us with one of the walks we took on around a nearby village as otherwise we would have been a little lost at times! Louise and Stephen's cottage was really interesting as it gave us an insight into the history of the area and its cotton mills, and the people who lived in the cottages. We also spent a few hours trying to figure out the way the house was adapted over time. We love interesting houses to stay in which have a lot of history. Louise was very warm and friendly and provided a beautiful stay for us. Thankyou -10 out of 10!
A really cosy dog friendly cottage for a few days in the Peaks. A bit of a drive (40 mins) from the tourist hub of Bakewell but plenty to do and see close by which we preferred. Beautiful surrounding scenery. The cottage was extremely well equipped, clean and warm. Louise was very informative and friendly and quick to respond to any questions. The garden was extremely pretty and a godsend for a late night dog wee in the shadows of the solar lights. We wouldn't hesitate in booking again.

My husband and I moved to Belper over 15 years ago. We fell in love with this beautiful town and decided to buy this little cottage to renovate and run as a holiday let. The cottage is cosy and magical, and I love spending time there making it wonderful for all of our guests. I am a keen walker and cyclist, so you may see me wondering the lush countyside that surrounds Belper. I am always on hand whilst my guests visit the town, so should you need anything im always there!
