Helen was super responsive and checked on us often early i. the stay. the house was nice but had it's quirks for an old farm house such as short showers (im 6'4"). worth noting both Verizon and T-Mobile had zero service at the house and the wifi was so-so. there was lots to do in the area and we loved the pool and hot tub.

At arrival the place appeared clean but had an odor. We assumed the odor was from the house not being used in a while. At the beginning of the stay Helen was quick to respond. We had an issue with the hot tub & Helen came out the next morning to fix it. While she was there my husband verbally said to her about the odor becoming stronger & she said they would contact a plumber. Late that night all 3 bathrooms in the home had an OVERWHELMING smell of raw sewage. We contacted Helen immediately & she said she would come & the plumber would make an emergency visit. We went out & upon our return Helen & her husband were in the house & were putting vinegar & baking soda down the drains prior to the plumbers arrival. That evening the smell of raw sewage returned. At 7:30am I told her that we were leaving/ending our trip early due to the smell & we received no response. Upon leaving we found dog poo slightly under a couch - not the smell we had no pets so unsafe for our small children- 3 and 8m

Helen and Bob were the perfect hosts and the place is so quaint! We loved it! Very clean, well decorated, great space, great bedrooms, beds, etc. we also loved the hot tub! Will definitely rent the space again
