The location and cottage are right up, the full lakeland expectation. You may need to ask for logs for the wood burning stove as none there on arrival. But weather was great, and heating was enough, so I didn't bother with the hassle of awaiting a delivery and/or expense. That said it would have been great to have the choice on arrival. One thing that become apparent was Original Cottages corporate nature; whilst highly efficient and great at being proactive at managing my booking, the are not boutique and lack the hospitality I would expect for the price. I say this because I left behind belongings worth approx £170 new; whilst they went out of their way to try and help me get this back, this was only possible remotely via their housekeeper contractors. By the time they checked, different cleaning contractors had been in, said item had mysteriously gone. For the price I would except a fully managed service so as to be able to have the reach to field customer mishaps like this.

Absolutely beautiful location and lovely cottage . We really enjoyed our stay but there were a few things that I would have expected. We only had one loo roll for 3 nights for a group of 5 and no washing up utensils eg cloth ,sponge or washing up brush. I would be fine to bring my own but need to know. Also the Tv when we did try it didn’t connect to the Wi-Fi and password etc which wasn’t a problem for us but you may need to look into that for future clients. Also need more info on where to put recycling. There is a dustbin for general waste but no info where to take glass, plastic and cardboard/ paper . Just a few small points that maybe useful.

A comfortable cottage in a beautiful area, with lots of great walking options from the doorstep and only a short 15 min drive to Ambleside.

We absolutely loved our stay at Slaters Cottage. We know the area well and have stayed in Little Langdale many times before. We hope to return very soon!

The cottage was extremely expensive for a mid January stay £905? The WiFi was non existent which meant my partner couldn’t work. One of the reasons I chose this place was WiFi. If there isn’t WiFi just say so No logs or coal on the first night seems penny pinching Sounds minor but they cut the j cloths in quarters and left a quarter. Leave the whole cloth ffs. Parking for my van was really tight. The climbing club which owns the cottage next door turned up with 7 cars. Parking chaos. Otherwise lovely period cottage
