Chapel Stile · 整套乡村小屋 · 3室4床1.0卫 · 可住6人 · 3 Bed in Chapel Stile (SZ161)
This charming Lakeland stone end-terrace cottage lies in the heart of Chapel Stile in the magnificent Langdale Valley. Dating back to the 1890s, this property was once the first Co-op in the Langdale Valley but it is now a welcoming retreat for six people. Chapel Stile is a pretty village, surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the Landgale Valley. In the charming village you'll find a pub and a well-stocked village store-come cafe, perfect for a bite of breakfast before a day out exploring. Fell walkers will delight at what's on offer nearby; from the well-known Langdale Pikes to mighty Scafell Pike, there's plenty of choice for the serious walker. For a lower level - though no less scenic - walk, take the circular route from the village along Langdale Beck to Dungeon Ghyll, and be sure to stop off at the cosy National Trust's pub for some refreshment before starting the return leg. Take a scenic drive along twisting roads to Ambleside, pausing at Skelwith Bridge en route to pick up on some delicious vegetarian food for your picnic. Spend the morning indulging in some retail therapy before enjoying a cruise round Lake Windermere from the jetty at Waterhead. Why not head to picturesque Grasmere? Visit Dove Cottage, the former home of William Wordsworth, before stocking up on the town's famous gingerbread, the perfect accompaniment to a relaxing cuppa in your home from home. Accessed by a couple of stone steps up from the lane, the useful entrance hallway - which also houses a handy WC - is ideal for leaving coats and boots before continuing through to the welcoming open-plan living space. A fantastic L-shaped room, ideal for easy and relaxed living. The living area has two sofas and an armchair positioned happily around the cosy wood burner, perfect for relaxing evenings in. For entertainment there's a TV with Freesat and DVD. Gather round the wooden dining table for sociable mealtimes; the cooks in the group will love the shaker-style kitchen. Well-equipped with an electric double oven and hob, handy microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher - no arguing over who has to wash up here! - it's ideal for whipping up hearty, homecooked meals. Onwards and upwards to the bedrooms. On the first floor are two of the three bedrooms, a king-size to the front and a twin to the rear, as well as the family bathroom. The king-size room has a chest of drawers for storage and beautiful views over the village to the fells beyond. The wooden bed is perfectly positioned opposite the window so why not indulge in a long lie in with a morning cuppa? The cosy twin room is just as lovely, with two wooden single beds, chest of drawers and wardrobe. As well as a WC, the large family bathroom has a shower over the bath meaning all tastes are catered for, whether you prefer a long soak in the tub or an invigorating shower. Up another flight of stairs to the second floor and the master bedroom, a spacious king-size room with a vaulted ceiling and stunning views from its dormer windows. As well as the feature wooden bed, in here you'll find a wardrobe for storage as well as two cosy armchairs, ideal for grabbing a moment's peace and quiet. There's also a handy WC adjacent to this top-floor bedroom. Outside this charming cottage is a lovely garden. With an area of lawn and a raised slate patio (children should not be left unsupervised due to the different levels here) with outdoor furniture, it's a great spot for some al fresco dining - or for just gazing out at your beautiful surroundings. Please note, the neighbouring properties have a right of access through the garden but use of the garden is private for its occupants. Parking can usually be found on the lane outside the cottage and further roadside parking can be found in the village.
