Das Pineapple Cottage selbst ist offenbar komplett neu eingerichtet (Anfang 2024). Die Möblierung ist hochwertig, die Einrichtung praktisch, wohldurchdacht und aus meiner Sicht sehr ästhetisch. Dieser Komfort ist für ein solches historisches Gebäude nicht selbstverständlich. Für zwei Personen ist alles sehr geräumig. Es gibt auch einen feinen Garten (auch wenn wir den gar nicht genutzt haben, weil wir die schöne Umgebung erkunden wollten). Unsere Gastgeber Sonia und Tom sind sehr charmant und unaufdringlich, feinster englischer Stil wie im Bilderbuch. Ebenso das Städtchen Chagford, das mit seinen vielen Pubs, Restaurants und kleinen Geschäften - Bioladen, Käserei, authentischer Fleischer, Bücherei vermutlich das edelste im Umkreis ist. Man kann direkt vom Dorf aus wandern (River Teign, Meldon Hill, querfeldein), es gibt das wilde Dartmoor (Rother Wanderführer Devon/Cornwall), mit einer Stunde Fahrt die Küste (Otterton, Hartland).

Our second stay here, and it was just as perfect as we remembered. An absolute gem in a great location. Sonia is a great host, very good communication before, during and after our stay

We have stayed at Sonia's before and absolutely love it. Sonia is very welcoming, the home is perfect for us meaning we do not have to use our car and we can cook from home too. Looking forward to our next visit already :)

Wonderful position in the middle of Chagford which is blessed with excellent local shops for both food and other things and surrounded by wonderful countryside. We enjoyed bread, cake and Samosas ftom the Beacwood bakery and easy meals from Blacks deli. An interesting cottage on lots of levels, very well equipped and comfortable. Sonia was very welcoming and it was lovely to have milk ready to make a cuppa and a sweet little posy from the garden.

This cosy cottage was perfect for us. It was equipped with everything we needed and Sonia was so welcoming. We chose Pineapple Cottage because we wanted a village location and Chagford did not disappoint. The village has everything you need literally on your doorstep. We particularly liked the cheese shop and beautiful bookshop. There were so many places to eat we didn't have time to try them all but we can recommend breakfast at the Beehive. Nearby walks were excellent with amazing views across Dartmoor. It was so relaxing to just forget about the car for a few days, enjoy the countryside and know we had a warm, cosy cottage to come back to. Thank you, we will be back.
