We had a wonderful stay at this great beach house! Comfortable beds and enough space for a big family, super close to beautiful Merry Beach, great outdoor spaces perfect for relaxing and a nice barbecue! Only downside is no wifi and the fact that you have to bring your own towels and linen.

This is a basic house very close to Merry Beach. Unfortunately there is no 3G/4G coverage in the whole of Kioloa, and no wifi at the premises, which makes it hard if you rely on online maps etc. The corner store closed at 3pm on the day we arrived and the restaurant was not open that night. With three hungry kids we had to go driving to find dinner. Thankfully we found the Bawley Point takeaway but it seems to be the only food outlet within around a half hour drive. I also had an uncomfortable interaction with the host. After booking here on Airbnb, they asked me to upload photos of my credit card and ID to an external site. I contacted Airbnb who advised me not to do that, so I refused. The host did end up sending me the check-in instructions after a few messages back and forth.

Great experience! The house is great, the check in service is also great, we have used the 24h service and the attendant was awesome. Really comfortable beds, and many activities such as game boards, balls, table tenis and etc. It is possible to hear the sea sounds during the night and there are kangaroos as part of the landscape. Highly recommended

A blast from the past at this place! No wifi means you’ll be playing table tennis, playing some board games (be sure to bring your own), and simply walk down to the beach, which is minutes’ away. But be warned as it seemed that only those with Telstra could access any cellular service including 4G as this part of Kioloa is a bit of a blackspot. Relax on the balcony or deck with the large BBQ (just be sure it’s cleaned first). Wander to the restaurant if you can’t be bothered cooking, or grab a hot snack or emergency supplies from the general store. And have a go with table tennis as the table is downstairs, along with three bats as of this review (we brought a spare just in case). And the location is superb. Though you can’t see the waves you can certainly hear it, and you only need to walk 4 minutes to get there. No light pollution also means you’ll see the stars outside your balcony. And when it’s sleeping time, be sure that the beds are plenty comfortable. Just make sure you bring your own linen (bed sheets, and pillow case) as it not supplied, probably for logistical and environmental reasons (fair). The top bunk is fine for smaller adults but it is really for the kids. Be sure to bring some extra supplies with you - we brought over an air fryer and coffee pod machine as we weren’t going to rely on the oven and instant coffee, however, the electric stove worked fine. And be wary of the shower times and water usage as the whole lot relies on the septic tank. Did I mention it’s a blast from the past? Think 1990s complete with DVDs stashed everywhere, a CD/cassette player that can read burnt MP3s, and furniture to match. So hang up your keys and enjoy the place for what it’s worth - Kioloa is a hidden gem of a town, and the house is a little slice of way-back when.
