Tough to beat! Absolutely stunning residence.

The place is just as in the photos, mid-century modern, a familiar style in that little neck of Menemsha which favors architects of that era. Unfortunately, it was yet another rainy weekend for a gorgeous wedding on the pond. Downpours, in fact. And, we got cold. There were blankets and plenty of hot water, but turning on the thermostat had no effect on the registers. Needless-to-say, the pool though lovely, is also not heated for tenants. Pick your season, but hurricane season is always chancy. The far off view of the water is lovely, especially on the one clear moonlit night we had. You can hear the waves crashing. Mature landscape with nicely lit trees. Japanese feel and simplicity. Some might not like the layout of the two bathrooms between two sets of bedrooms. One of the bathrooms has only a shower. Outdoor shower by the pool private and fun.

Several days prior to our arrival I messaged the owner to let them know we needed to have an item delivered. I had been completely up front that ima chemo patient, so to need a single, small package delivered seemed reasonable. I was told there was no mail delivery to the house, but there was a PO about a mile away. He made sure to include the walking distance for himself, which is completely irrelevant to me as I’m nearly immobile do, in part, to my cancer treatments. Despite him shutting me down on having a comfort item delivered, some future guests package arrived on day 5 of our 7 day stay. Upon our arrival, the pool was dirty. We were told cleaning day was Thursday. Our booking began on Sunday. We were told that heating the pool was not something they did for renters. I asked for house instructions and he sent info on check-in. No info on the many beach items in storage and whether we might use them. No info on departure instructions. The dishes are stored at unreachable height!
