We had a great time. We were up in the area visiting family across Ayrshire and Cairn Cottage was ideally located. The cottage was warm and inviting (and very well appointed - we had everything we needed). It was also much more spacious than the pictures suggest, so we had our own space when needed. Michelle was a fantastic help in suggesting ideas for those breaks in between family visits. Most impressive (and for which we are very grateful), Michelle took time out of her busy day to give us a tour of the farm (and allowed us to meet (and hold) the very new lambs and calves).

Lovely cottage with stunning views and a really tranquil location. Spacious and well equipped with a wonderful welcome basket. Michelle was a fantastic host, keeping in touch nicely and giving us recommendations for the local area. They are also very dog friendly. Highly recommended and we would stay again.

Good stay. Very convenient to visit relatives. Lovely view of Corsencon Hill and River Nith from the cottage. Enjoyed a walk up Glenafton to the reservoir. Very scenic. The bakery in town in a must. Michelle is very helpful and easy to contact. Great welcome pack.

Michelle’s place was exactly as described, the communication was top-tier as well. The area is beautiful and was perfect for our stay whilst working in New Cumnock. There are not a lot of places to stay in New Cumnock so if you’re thinking of booking somewhere, definitely consider this beautiful cottage 💯

Our family truly enjoyed Overcairn Cottage and it’s beautiful views! We had a wonderful stay and Michelle was a wonderful host, very responsive to all our questions. We loved the sweet treats she left for us, what a sweet and unexpected treat! We visited several castles and the coast line was an easy drive from New Cumnock. The rolling hills dotted with sheep, and beautiful views were one of our family’s favorite things about our visit. Overcairn was very quiet and peaceful, and I highly recommend!
