No 11 is a place to relax in the evening toasty in front of the log burner stove, so pick a bag of logs up on the way. The view from the patio windows are towards the sea. From the dining table the view is over the large lawn and onto the harbour. The well kept garden is a feast of bluebells in Spring, and colourful in Summer. The only noise you'll hear is a distant tractor, a seagulls cry and the wind rattling ships rigging. At night when clear all the stars come out. Welcome to 11 Laigh Isle, our self catering holiday chalet on the Isle of Whithorn, which welcomes visitors to the beautiful countryside of Dumfries and Galloway. The Isle of Whithorn is the most southerly tip the Machars and of Southern Scotland. The Isle of Whithorn is a gem of a historic village and seaport, the harbour is set around with mostly Georgian houses, built on the causeway that originally led to the island. Sit outside the Steam Packet Inn with a glass of wine or their own brewed ale and enjoy the ambience and a little Isle of Whithorn 'magic' will cast it's spell on you. The two bed chalet is very comfortable, quiet and perfect for a relaxing holiday. The chalet is fully equipped and has speedy WI-FI. There is so much to see and do in this area of Scotland from walking sandy beaches to visiting exotic gardens, historic castles, ruined abbeys and stately homes, to golf, walking or just exploring the rock pools or enjoying a meal that someone else has made for you. We accept well behaved children and well behaved dogs, max of two depending on size, oh and their (well behaved) owners too. Please inform us at the time of booking if you are bringing your furry friend. Guest access Private garden area (NOT FENCED IN!!) surrounds the chalet with table and chairs outside on the patio. One double bedroom with a king size bed and built in wardrobes. The second bedroom is small, so we prefer to describe the chalet as best suited to couples or those with a young child.. Your combination for this will be sent to you before you travel. Please acknowledge receipt. When leaving just ensure all windows are closed, water heater is off, doors are locked and return the keys to the safe, spinning the dials to lock. Check in from 4 pm, earlier if required and subject to previous guests etc, with check out by 11 a.m. Other things to note There is a post office and small shop with adjoining cafe, which serves a fabulous Scottish breakfast as well as coffee, cakes etc. Some supermarkets will deliver for those staying longer.
