坎布里亚 · 整套别墅 · 7室7床7.5卫 · 可住14人 · Spectacular views! Spacious 7 bed 7 bathroom house
Recently remodelled and refurbished 7 bedroom, 7 bathroom house with an external terrace over a verandah offering magnificent views over Morecambe Bay, in a secluded, quiet and private setting. Wheelchair friendly ground floor with bedroom and en-suite wet room Just 150m from Main Street Parking for 7 cars & 2 EV Charging points Free Wi-fi Surround sound TVs, Sky Sports, Netflix etc. Games room with pool table & PS4 Piano External children's play area & equipment Fire pit & 2 barbecues 'What a view' is the comment from every visitor to Victoria Mount and the house has been re-modelled to make best use of its wonderful location. We have lovingly restored what was previously Celia's family home to attract extended family groups. The terrace, and verandah below it, allow for al fresco dining either in the open or under cover. On the first floor landing there is a quiet zone, with window seats and views over the bay. Comfort & Flexibility - We have tried to create a hotel style experience, with en-suite or dedicated bathrooms for each bedroom. Six bedrooms have Super King sized beds and the seventh a King sized bed. All rooms can be configured as either twin beds or doubles to give maximum flexibility and enable our guests to maximise the occupancy. There are also two additional rollaway beds for young children, 2 cots and 2 high chairs. Accessibility - We felt it was important to make it wheelchair friendly across the whole ground floor, including provision of a bedroom and en-suite bathroom suitable for elderly or disabled guests. A wheelchair is also available on site for use by guests on request. Sustainability - This is a low carbon house - we have invested in a ground source heating system which provides underfloor heating throughout and sufficient hot water to serve all the bathrooms. Our electricity supply is sourced from a green energy company. We have two EV Charging points - one 22kW and one 7kW. Child friendly - we want the house to be fun for the whole family and have installed play equipment, including a giant chess set, table tennis, table football. Music - There is a piano and a guitar for use by guests and the two TVs with surround sound system plus an additional Denon surround sound system in the dining room. There are apple trees and soft fruit bushes in the extensive garden and we would encourage guests to pick whatever they can use. There are also areas for quiet contemplation. The southern part of the garden is steeply sloping and not currently accessible to guests but we hope to upgrade the paths and steps in the future to allow wider use of the site.
Great location. House is full of character whilst providing excellent modern bathroom facilities. You feel at home as soon as you walk in and can imagine the generations of families enjoying this home. Our family loved our stay here. Jim was very proactive in providing clear information and very responsive to any communication. The underfloor heating worked extremely well with in room thermostats allowing us to enjoy the full comfort of the house. Kitchen was well stocked. Would definitely recommend and return.
This large house fit our family perfectly; it's a beautiful , old house that's been rennovated to preserve original features. The garden too is fun to be in for both children (but not preschoolers because of its steep terracing) and adults. By far the most outstanding feature was the view of Morecambe Bay from the house. The changing tides and cloud formations were so fascinating , especially the rainbows. We had an ideal stay, and the location near the centre of Grange contributed to an easy stay, as well as the incredibly well equipped kitchen and comfortable , big bedrooms.
The accommodation exceeded all expectations, in particular the spectacular views and outside space. We were a family group of 15 ranging from 9months to 90 years and all were catered for. We had intended spending time visiting local beauty spots but because the weather was so good and Victoria Mount offers so many different activities including outside dining we hardly left the house. We would definitely recommend this property for any large group.
We have just returned from a weeks break at this beautiful house. The photos really don't do it justice. The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need especially if travelling with children. They had plenty to keep them entertained including a well equipped games room, outdoor chess, swings, table tennis, table football and the rocket slide to name a few. The hammock was a real hit too. Victoria Mount was the perfect base for our visit to the lake district. It is within easy reach of many places to visit for a day out. There are plenty of local shops and restaurants within a 5 minute walk of the house too. The best part of this house, by far, was the stunning view over the bay. What a wonderful way to begin each day looking out for the birds and local wildlife (of which we saw many!) The hosts Jim and Celia are extremely helpful and responded to any communication with speed. It is obvious that they have very lovingly restored this property with the care and consideration it deserves. We feel very lucky that we were able to share what they have created. We have made many memories during our stay and we were all reluctant to leave.
This is a fantastic house that's incredibly well set up for large groups. the views are amazing, and there is loads to do in the house itself, so even if the weather is rubbish you won't get bored! The location is handy for the lake district, and in the village there are 3 small supermarkets, plus an excellent butcher and grocer, and a fabulous bakery. You can also arrange a Tesco delivery for bigger shops. The views are amazing and group had a great time
Grange is a charming unspoilt coastal resort, with a long promenade and gardens, on the shores of Morecambe Bay, just 7 miles from Lake Windermere.
Grange has a number of independent shops, including the legendary Higginson's Butchers & Hazelmere Cafe, restaurants, bars and takeaways as well as a Costa Coffee, Tesco Express, Co-op and Spar. The house is in a secluded location, but just 150m from the town centre.
Grange is readily accessible by road and rail. It is less than 20 minutes by car from the M6 and less than 30 minutes by rail, via Lancaster, with over 20 trains per day and some direct trains to Manchester Airport. The house is less than a 15 minute walk from the station. It is also just a 25 minute taxi ride from Oxenholme station on the West Coast Main Line. There is also a good local bus service.
There are a number of pleasant walks available from Victoria Mount including our favourite, Hampsfell, from where you can enjoy clear views of the Lakeland Fells.
It is just 2 miles from Cartmel, which is famous for its Sticky Toffee Pudding and fine dining at L'Enclume as well as its pubs and the Racecourse. Grange is also an excellent base for exploring the south Cumbrian coast and quieter southern and western areas of the Lake District.
The estuary and the countryside around Grange are fascinating places for nature enthusiasts and there are several nature reserves and sites of special scientific interest. Grange has some of the finest parks and gardens on the Cumbrian coast.
We have put together a booklet with details of local facilities, walks and places to visit to help you to explore both Grange and the surrounding areas.
