Oh wow!! This was a great home away from home for my Dad and I to visit Newfoundland. The house was bigger than two people needed for sure — but the room gave us plenty of options for the combinations of working and relaxing we each needed. We lucked out with the most gorgeous weather and the views from the house were spectacular. The house had absolutely everything we needed including some snacks and coffee, and our host, Derrick, was very communicative and helpful as needed. As a prior review mentioned the windows are kind of salt water soaked— they get watered by the sea on a daily basis because of the location so this would be tough to keep clean under the best of circumstances and it creates a bit of fogginess — but that seemed a small item compared to having a house on a cliff with salt water smells and breathtaking views of Bell Island! If you’re looking for comfort, beauty, and an elegant setting from which to explore, this is the spot to pick!

We couldn't have asked for better hosts and house. The location was perfect for our day trips and close proximity to St. John's. Derrick and Rachel are super responsive and helped a lot with our questions and day trip planning. The location is a stellar spot to have a backyard fire and watch the sun go down over Bell Island at the end of the day. Magical. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful stay here! The views are breathtaking and the Airbnb is nicer even than the photos! Highly recommend!

Derrick and this home were simply AMAZING!!! My family along with my grand baby travelled here for a wedding this July and stayed for 4 nights. Immediately we felt at home. Derrick contacted us to let us know we could check in early which was welcome news after a very early travel day. Upon arrival at the home we were welcomed by Whales off our back porch Spectacular There is nothing our hosts didn’t think of, from the beautiful welcome basket of goodies to the cozy couch blankets or the beautiful fire pit (with wood) that we enjoyed several times. The house itself was very clean, spacious, and we enjoyed our days sitting and taking in the spectacular views on the many porches and patios. This house is beautiful appointed and luxurious and clean!!! Don’t worry about a good night sleep because the beds were great! Derrick was warm, welcoming and very helpful right from the time of booking, when I was struggling a bit. I travel extensively, and this was one of my best experiences!

What an amazing stay at Derrick's beautiful home. It is even more lovely than the photos. The house was huge and spotless, Derrick was a fantastic host who absolutely went above and beyond, and the location is second to none. It was peaceful and serene. Exactly what my family was hoping for on our vacation. We got to see a few minke whales from the back patio and the sunsets were stunning. This place absolutely was the highlight of our vacation. My daughter had a great time looking for creatures down at the ocean and we loved having our tea looking out at Bell Island. Would absolutely book again and plan to some day soon!
