With direct access to Kingdom Trails, a 7 minute ride to the base of Burke Mountain Resort and a short drive to nearby Crystal Lake or Lake Willoughby, the home is ideally located for all of your recreational desires. From alpine skiing, XC skiing, snow shoeing, snowmobiling and fat tire biking in the winter, to mountain biking, hiking, swimming, kayaking, fishing and nature walks in the summer- and everything in between- this home is located in the heart of it all. The yard is the perfect spot for outdoor games, a family picnic and chatting after a day of adventures. Just minutes from the Village of East Burke, you can stop by Tiki Bar after riding for a cold local beer and bites from the food trucks parked on site, or you can head over to the Orange Rind and enjoy a cocktail by the river. You can cool off with a quick dip in the river swimming hole and a stop at Clementine's ice cream for a tasty treat. For delicious pastries and sandwiches head over to Auntie Dee Dee's Bakery. We booked this home just a few days before the 2024 eclipse. The host, Katherine, was extremely responsive and managed to get everything ready for us very quickly despite the ongoing snowstorm. Katherine welcomed us into her beautiful and spotless home with a very thoughtful care package. The house is well maintained with many amenities which made us feel right at home. The area surrounding the home is quiet, peaceful, and absolutely stunning. It provided an amazing eclipse viewing and is something that my family and I will never forget. We're all very thankful to Katherine for letting us into her home for one of the best experiences of our lives.
This place is the perfect gateway to the kingdom trails. A few hundred yards off the intersection of the Harp and Ozias trails, it offers perfect access to both the amazing riding on Darling hill via Harp and the more family friendly (and still super fun) trails down in the river valley by town via Ozias. We started both of our riding days going into the valley and riding all the way across and up, then coming down good'n'you, farm junk, nose dive, and riding back via Ware's Davis. We then climbed back up and did all the fun stuff on Darling Hill (I recommend hitting Emma's Sanctuary, an amazing trail that gets overlooked). This was an amazing ride and I recommend it. The house itself was great. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and the deck and yard were amazing. The complimentary 4 pack of Vermont beers was also an amazing and touch that made us feel welcome. I highly recommend this place and will be staying here again sometime in the future.
An excellent place to stay for access to Kingdom Trails, and all of the rest of the North East Kingdom of Vermont. Everything was in great condition.
Another fantastic stay at this beautiful home in Vermont! This house is a mountain biker's dream. Access to the gorgeous and extensive Kingdom Trails system is literally outside the back door and the house is perfectly outfitted with a large mudroom full of places to hang your clothes and gear, hooks for bikes in the garage, and even an amazing bike washing stand outside with a hose. The house is spotless, spacious and well organized -- and outfitted with all the kitchen appliances you need to make a gourmet meal at the end of the day:) The host was easily reachable, warm and wonderfully flexible. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
The house and location was perfect for our family. Lots of room to spread out, the view from the deck is amazing, best equipped Airbnb kitchen we've ever had. Perfect location to access the KTA trails, and excellent storage for our fleet of bikes. Katherine was a great host and responded immediately. We will definitely be back!
