The Stables are the perfect country getaway and a true home from home. Easy to get to, private with stunning views, private patio and large garden with a tree swing. Location was perfect!! Close to shop, post office, playground, quirky tea room, town and beach. I could go on and on. The accommodation was very cosy, clean and well equipped, including games, colouring and toys for children. Dawn is a perfect host.. very friendly, communicative and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. It was wonderdul of her to be present at the check in to show us around and welcome us all. 'Snack basket' and tea box was a great touch.. just what you need after your journey. Thank you Dawn, no doubt we will be back. Andrea with family 🌷
We stayed at The Stables for a month between house moves. What a fantastic find - peaceful, spotless, comfortable and a real home from home. Our hosts were thoughtful, kind, friendly and responsive. The setting was stunning and the village very friendly. We hope to return again. 5 star hosts and accommodation!
We had an amazing 3 month stay. My new darling daughter was born during our stay and this was the place my wife was able to recover in peace afterwards. We felt like this was our home away from home. Dawn and Gary provided every possible comfort and amenity. They have a whole book of every possible attraction and even had a welcome basket upon our arrival. Dawn's communication is beyond excellent and Gary even helped jump my car and even drove me into town in a bind. We ordered so many things for our 'little' to their door and they in turn delivered it to ours without one complaint. I would give them six stars if I could. These aren't just hosts they are people who can easily become friends.
We had a lovely stay at the Stables, which is such a cute and comfortable place to spend a short holiday. Dawn could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Appledore is a pretty village with a really good old-fashioned tearoom and an antique shop crammed full of little things to look at -- basically our 9-year old daughter's idea of heaven. Our dog loved the long walks on our doorstep. There are so many places to explore nearby. We spent time in Rye and Dungeness, two favourite places of ours close to Appledore. We would love to visit again and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Stables to others!
The Stables is quietly tucked away overlooking a beautiful, peaceful field. Everything was spotless, the underfloor heating made our stay extremely comfortable and the kitchen (and the whole unit) has everything you could possibly need. The lawn was perfect for the children to kick a ball and the swing right outside was a treat. Dawn and Gary are both charming and communication was straight forward and easy. Brilliant stay all round.
Close to the village recreation ground, tennis courts and childrens play area. The village hosts a pub, The Black Lion, offering lovely pub food, a well stocked general store/post office, Miss Mollett's High Class Tea Room, a hair salon and an antique shop.
Lots of rural walks including the Military Canal and the Saxon Way. This is a popular location with cyclists and ramblers. Wine lovers enjoy visiting local vineyards such as Gusbourne in Appledore and Chapel Down and Biddenden. All offer tours and tastings.
Approximately 15 mins to the beautiful coastline and a short distance to nearby market towns of Tenterden, Rye and Winchelsea. A little further to Hastings and Battle. Areas steeped in History.
There are lovely walks across the fields and along the canal bank directly from the cottage. You can walk to the village shop in just over five minutes and Miss Mollett's High Class Tearoom and the Black Lion, village pub is approximately ten minutes. Plenty of off road parking on our property.
