This characterful cottage which dates to 1722 boasts wooden beamed ceilings, timeless features, and expansive grounds with a pond. It is an excellent choice for a group of up to eight guests and two canine companions seeking a tranquil break in nature. In the heart of the Forest of Bowland National Landscape, this property boasts scenic surroundings with historic landmarks, forest walking trails and quaint market towns. As you enter this historic country home you’ll be greeted by a sophisticated lounge with wooden flooring, a wood burner, a Chesterfield sofa, and armchairs. Continue into the snug to find a TV and more comfortable seats. The formal dining room has a rustic feel which boasts a large wooden table and a window seat looking out onto the garden. Cook a hearty meal for your loved ones in the farmhouse-style kitchen with tiled flooring, a wooden beamed ceiling and a green AGA. There is also a small breakfast table and steps that lead down to the cellar with utility facilities. Upstairs is a family bathroom and three bedrooms with countryside views – a double, twin and super-king-size. On the second floor is a double bedroom with an en-suite. Outside, you will find enclosed rear and front gardens with patio areas, furniture and a BBQ. You can also enjoy access to the 3 acres of grounds with a pond and a decked area. Set beside the River Hodder, you can take your four-legged friends on a stroll along the Whitewell Stepping Stones hiking area. Visit the Bowland Wild Boar Park (5.5 miles) and the grand 16th-century Browsholme Hall and Tithe Barn (3 miles). Take a picnic to Stocks Reservoir (9.5 miles) and explore the quaint villages of Whalley and Downham (both within 10 miles). Also nearby is the vibrant market town of Clitheroe (7 miles).
