The Cloth Hall Barn & Cottages are three separate outstanding conversions set in the same grounds, just a few steps from each other, featuring five double bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. The main barn has a large open plan living and dining area that seats up to ten, ideal for larger family groups or groups of friends who wish to holiday together. There's also exclusive daytime use of a heated outdoor swimming pool, pool house and hot tub. This collection of beautifully renovated properties is yours for the duration of your stay. We have Cloth Worker's Barn which has three double bedrooms, all with king beds. Both downstairs bedrooms have en suite shower rooms and the main suite is on a mezzanine floor and features a stunning Catchpole & Rye roll top bath in the room and an ensuite shower wet room. This main barn has a large open plan living area that will be able to accommodate all of your guests (up to ten) around the main dining table and in the kitchen/living area as a whole. Weaver's Cottage is right next door featuring a king bedroom, along with separate lounge and kitchen area with spa-style bathroom, with a gorgeous bath tub to sink into and a shower wet room. And then on to our secret hideaway, Spinster's Nook. This cute thatched cottage has an open plan living and sleeping area, again with a lovely comfy king bed, with lovely bright colours and a separate shower wet room.
Smarden is a small picturesque village, often called the 'loveliest village in Kent' and after a visit, you'll know why as it is a beautiful Kentish weavers' village with around 200 buildings of architectural and historical note. You'll find three pubs within walking distance, a butchers, a vintage shop and an art gallery. 3.5 miles away is the town of Headcorn where larger shops and a mainline train station can be found.
Close by guests can explore Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens, Leeds Castle and Bodiam Castle. There is a golf club close by at Chart Hills and fishing lakes at Cackle Hill. Historic Rye is 19 miles away, Camber Sands is just a few miles further along the coast.
The Kent and East Sussex Railway is in Tenterden, which is known as the Jewel in the Weald locally, with lots of independent shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. There are vineyard tours and tastings at Chapel Down in Small Hythe, near Tenterden and Hush Heath Winery in Staplehurst.
There is free parking for four cars inside the gated grounds, (by arrangement we can fit one more in) close to the properties, with plenty of on street parking locally for any additional cars. The village has a bus service and the nearest train station is in Headcorn, which is 3.5 miles away.
