Lost Cottage is typically a small, granite & slate, Cornish cottage. You’ll find it right in the heart of the Medieval town of Lostwithiel. This ancient stannary town dates back to the 12th century & it's one of the most vibrant & lively communities in Cornwall. Car parking in Lostwithiel is free both on-street & in the public car parks. Lost Cottage, a lovely, comfortable, 2 double bed cottage, perfectly placed for exploring the beautiful town & surrounding countryside, & the rest of Cornwall. The living areas in the cottage consist of a compact & modern kitchen with an induction hob/extractor fan, combi microwave oven grill, small fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/drier. A dining/living room with a small table, one chair & tailor made bench for sitting at the table, a 3 seater sofa, a smart tv, wifi. The bathroom is downstairs with a modern, step-in shower, heated towel rail, mirrored bathroom cabinet with built-in sensor light. The two bedrooms upstairs are both doubles, light & airy with lovely window views. One room has a twin zip bed, to allow for two single beds if needed (this needs to be requested upon your booking so we can make them up). The slightly larger bedroom has a dressing table & stool, a double open wardrobe with two lower drawers & bedside tables & a full length mirror.

Whether you arrive in Lostwithiel by car or public transport, the approach treats you to some of the most beautiful scenery in the area. In the town itself, old narrow streets house colourful brick and stone cottages as well as restaurants, pubs and cafes and some interesting little antique and arts and crafts shops. The main historical focus of the town is a medieval bridge, parts of which date back to the late 13th century. Now a Scheduled Ancient Monument, it sits at the point of the lowest crossing of the River Fowey, giving a clue to its use as a busy port during the tin boom of the area.
Lostwithiel has some great walks, river, nature reserve & woodland walks; it's a nature lovers & walkers paradise! The nearby Coulson park is ideal for children.
As mentioned, Lostwithiel has many shops & eateries. It also has free car parking, which is a bonus! There is the nearby railway station & the trains serve London Paddington, Exeter, Plymouth, Penzance, Bristol Temple Meads & Cardiff Central.
