Portishead · 整套民居 · 2室3床2.0卫 · 可住5人 · Somerset seaside family retreat
A spacious retreat in the seaside town of Portishead. The property has a unique position on a peaceful plot with panoramic views of the Bristol Channel. Fully integrated open plan kitchen living space with sea views. Master bedroom with king size bed and en-suite with sea views. Second bedroom with bunk beds and a separate bathroom with bath. Although the space has a private entrance, you may hear or see our children playing from time to time in the garden which you’re welcome to share. As the annex is an extension of our home, we hope this family friendly space feels like a home away from home. The property has its own entrance that is fully accessible and buggy friendly -there are no steps. The garden is big and great for exploring but can be dangerous as there are lots of rocks and drops- please don’t leave children unattended. Please note: Wifi can’t be guaranteed at all times in all parts of the annex.
Nice apartment in a lovely spot. Great to have toys and books for our toddler. Thanks for the coffee recommendations!
Nice flat, clean. Host helpful and friendly. Great value for money, just wish there were a few more kitchen utensils, eg, bread knife, peeler, sharp knife
Ideal! Cada preciosa en un entorno espectacular. A tan solo 15 minutos de Bristol! Justo lo que buscábamos para descansar!! El jardín y todos los juguetes enamoraron a nuestros pequeños! Totalmente recomendable!!
it was really good stay. enjoyed the place. only thing was wifi coverages was working in only kitchen area only.
There are plenty of walks - including the Somerset coastal path- that you can pick up from the front door.
Stride up to the woods, potter down to the pebble beach (check the tide times!) or go crabbing at the marina. The famous Portishead Lido is heated all year round for open air swimming and the lakeside pleasure gardens are only a 15 minute walk.
Head to Mokoko for coffee, fresh croissants and sourdough. The Siren’s Calling is a fab craft ale pub and brewery, The Port does wood fired pizza to have in or takeaway and SeaRock is the place to go for fish and chips and ice-cream. A five minute walk away is the Royal Inn - a newly refurbished gastro pub/restaurant with large, smart beer garden and panoramic views of the Channel. It gets very busy so we recommend you book if you’d like to eat here.
Groceries
There is a small co-op walking distance away selling Cook meals and basic provisions or a very large Waitrose or Sainsbury’s a five minute drive away.
The highstreet has some lovely shops for a browse -there’s an independent butcher, florist and a very nice bookshop. There’s also a great organic farm shop and cafe called Honey and Ginger on the Clevedon Road.
Everywhere in Portishead is accessible by foot or bike. We have the Portbury Wharf Salt Marsh and Nature Reserve on our doorstep- there are hides for keen bird watchers.
By car, visit National Trust’s Tyntsfield, Abbot’s Pools, Leigh Woods for walks and nip over the Suspension Bridge into Clifton Village and the city of Bristol.
Sand Point is a National Trust beach not far from Weston-Super-Mare - it’s a beautiful, blustery spot with roaming sheep perfect for picnics. Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole are easy day trips.
We are also well located for trips further afield such as Glastonbury, Bath, the Cotswolds, South Wales and Devon.
