Welcome to Right on the River - a spacious walk-out basement (2,000 sq ft apartment) that you'll have completely to yourself. Peacefully tucked away on a craggy WV mountain, this custom home offers a private & peaceful setting along the banks of the gorgeous Shenandoah River. You'll be staying in the Shannondale area of Harpers Ferry, only 10 min from Charles Town (and the Casino) & 15 min from Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, and a few miles away from Appalachian Trail entrances. This gorgeous home situated on ten private acres will astound you! The stunning backyard sits along the banks of the Shenandoah River with over 400 feet of private river access/views. You'll feel like you've been transported to West Virginia's famous "Almost Heaven," as you bask in the peace and quiet of nature. For your enjoyment, there are four kayaks, a canoe, two inflatable paddle boards, inner tubes, and lots of outside games (Jenga, Corn Hole, Kubb, Bocce, and others). There are also 3 bow/arrow sets and a straw target - please supervise children. As you can imagine, this will save you loads of money on renting equipment or paying one of the nearby tubing/kayaking outfitters. :) There are also fishing poles if you want to catch and release. You can order a fishing license online in advance (required by WV) for $3/day or you can get it at the local Walmart after you arrive and get settled. You will also need worms and lures. Just a mile from the house, is a public park with a river entry point - which is perfect if you want to go tubing. Depending on the flow of the river, it takes about 2 hours to get from the public access point back to the backyard where you can easily pop out and you're right back at your home away from home. The yard is naturally divided into three tiers with chairs and fire pits (with provided firewood) and electricity on each level. You will park in the front of the house and walk around along a stone path (fully lit at night) to the private entrance of the walk-out basement. The lower-level basement apartment has everything you will need, including: Outside covered and open space where you can enjoy the views and the river. The entrance patio is covered and has a TV with Roku Full kitchen. One full bathroom. Bedroom 1 - queen bed and desk perfect for remote work. Also a TV setup for you to connect to your own streaming services. And high speed internet. Bedroom 2 - two twin-over-full bunk beds and a desk. Also a TV setup for you to connect to your own streaming services. And high speed internet. The family room has a big TV all set up for you to connect to your own streaming services. And a bookshelf filled with books from nearly every genre imaginable. There is a dining table that seats 6 which is perfect for meals or to enjoy the myriad of games/puzzles available to you or (if you must) remote work. A main attraction inside is the stone bar with plenty of room for 6 people to saddle up. There is a bar fridge to keep your favorites beverages nice and cold.
