Reclaim calm in this serene lakeside apartment. Welcome to our home, situated in the village of Riva di Faggeto Lario. We have loved having this place and would now like to share it with you, and perhaps help you discover the holiday you didn't know you needed; one that fills you with the quiet calm that only the mountains and the water can provide. The moment you step onto the expansive terrace, and each time you look up from your book as you lounge by the pool, your heart will melt. Our apartment consists of two bedrooms, two bathrooms ensuite, spacious indoor kitchen/dining/living space, and an enormous terrace. All rooms have equal access to the terrace via French doors. These all have shutters so with the inner doors open and shutters closed, you'll awake to the soft sounds of the lake below as water laps against the sides of boats. The main bedroom has a queen size (150cm wide) bed with generous amounts hanging space in the walk-in robe and a tall chest of drawers. Ample space around the bed makes for a comfortable sleeping quarters, or just a nice place to laze in bed. The second bedroom has two single beds which can be easily moved together to form a queen size bed. This room also has plenty of hanging space and drawers. The kitchen is well equipped and has all modern conveniences with tall fridge/freezer, dishwasher, four ring gas stove and a small oven. There is also a 2kg washing machine. The indoor dining space has a large and very accommodating table with space for six. Adjacent to the kitchen, the dining table can be used as extra space for food and drinks preparation; or for the digital nomad, a good place to sit with your laptop. The indoor living space has comfy couches, TV, ChomeCast and DVD player for those nights indoors relaxing in front of your favorite program. Head out on to the terrace and you have another dining table and chairs, and a suite of furniture for lounging in the sun. A pair of umbrellas will keep the rays off if you're really feeling the heat. Once you've explored the apartment, head down to the pool shared exclusively with residents and guests. Or continue down to the village where you'll find a lido/beach cafe-bar, restaurants, and water activities. The village has a ferry terminal from which you can head off to explore other parts of the lake. Perhaps head off to Cernobbio on a Wednesday for the market, or continue in to Como City. Alternatively go up along the lake to Bellagio. Of course there are many other beautiful places in between. For the more adventurous types, instead of going down to the village you can walk up the mountain along the old stone paths that the locals once used to access other villages and farms in the area, before the roads were built. Keep going up and you'll summit Monte Palanzone, one of the taller peaks in the area at 1436m / 4700ft altitude; there's a mountain refuge up there that serves hot food and cold drinks.
