I've lived in Rodmersham Green, near Sittingbourne in Kent for over 30 years. I love the area and know it well and I live round the corner from my cottages. For many years I worked in London but looked forward to returning to the countryside at the end of a long day. After years travelling for both work and pleasure I found that somethings were really important in a holiday/business letting from the really small details from a tea cosy to crisp bed linen to big things like cleanliness, wifi and a properly equipped kitchen and an outside seating area. We hire out bicycles to explore the area. I also run cookery and baking workshops, especially break making workshops. Both the cottages are about 1 mile from the No.1 cycle route and the North Kent Downs. The cottages are a short drive (5/10 mins) from Sittingbourne, 15 mins from the historic market town of Faversham and 25 mins from the beautiful cathedral city of Canterbury and the pretty coastal town of Whitstable. The beautiful Leeds Castle is a short 15/20 min drive. The cottages are 1 hour by train from central London. You can look out of a cottage window at rural village life on the village green but in a short drive/cycle be town or at the coast. There are plenty of good village pubs to explore, including the Fruiterers Arms opposite the cottages. The village tea and coffee shop is 5 doors down serving fantastic cakes. If you fancy relaxing; curling up on the sofa you can surf the internet using our high speed broadband Wifi, watch a DVD or read one of our local interest books. For something really different you could take a Thames Barge sailing trip or go hawking/fly birds of prey. We know what it's like to travel with young children so we provide stair gates, highchairs, plastic cutlery and crockery and a cot as standard in each cottage. We also welcome a well behaved dog.
