Mita Surf Apartment is a spacious, indoor-outdoor property just 3 blocks from the beach, next to Mita Surf Shop. It is located in a great neighborhood for those who are happy to be in a Mexican village, not a resort. The simple design is good for kids, adults, and grandparents alike. We live across the street and are on hand to address any issues that come up. We also have a robust guest book with recommendations to help you find the meals and recreation you are looking for. Our newly built apartment is complemented by a palapa kitchen and dining area, plus a one-of-a-kind lap pool designed with a shallow area for relaxing and playing. The apartment’s sleek. modern design offers all you will need for a terrific tropical stay! ** There are two bedrooms BUT important to note that the second bedroom is small and has an individual bed. It is accessed by walking around the terrace, thus is it not ideal for small children or two couples traveling together**

We loved staying here! It was really nice to have the indoor/outdoor kitchen and dining area and the pool to cool off in. Perfect location, right in town and 5 minutes from the beach. We rented boards from Luis, right next to the accommodation. Highly recommend and would love to return!

We had a wonderful stay at Mita Surf House. Luis and Kate were very responsive whenever we had a question and were proactive in checking in with us. The house was beautiful, just as pictured, and walking distance to a surf break and plenty of delicious restaurants. We got surf lessons with Luis one day, highly recommend! Having the surf shop next door made it so easy to get boards and go out on the water. We cannot wait to visit again! Highly highly recommend if you want to visit Mita and not be in the resort crowd.
Great ease of access and close proximity to both popular destinations and local spots. The home is very clean and thoughtful with the design/amenities provided. I didn’t even want to go to the wedding I flew in for. There was a produce market outside on Saturday with delicious fresh fruits and vegetables. A small grocery across the street and a surf café close by. Would 10/10 return to this exact residence.

Mita Surf Apartment is located in the residential neighborhood of Emiliano Zapata. Many of our neighbors work in the fishing industry. Several mini-grocery stores within walking distance offer ease of preparing one's own meals. Guests can also take advantage of a mix of upscale, waterfront dining options (in a neighborhood known as Anclote) and economical local taco stands.
Our neighborhood is considered a quiet one but you will hear the sounds of many roosters, chachalacas and other birds, dogs, crickets, and geckos chirping, kids playing, people playing music, and occasional fiestas, horses passing by, and vendors with speakers selling various goods- México is a loud country and we enjoy all the sounds and quirks that make it unique.
** If you are sensitive to noise this might not be the best option for you. We offer complimentary foam earplugs but this is not enough of a barrier for everyone and depending on the night it can be very quiet or there can be music from the neighbors, dogs barking etc. We do not have control over the noise and have priced our accommodation with this in mind. There are condominiums nearby that offer the best sound-proof option for very sensitive ears**

We are a Mexican-American couple who share a love of the ocean and a tranquil lifestyle. Kate, with roots in London, New York and San Francisco, is a clinical social worker with a focus on youth. Luis, originally from Guadalajara, is a professional surf & paddle board instructor as well as mountain bike guide. We enjoy cooking, watching documentaries and sipping margaritas at sunset. We are laid-back and enjoy sharing our home as well as local knowledge with guests. Apart from staying with us, we invite you to participate in a variety of outdoor activities, most notably surfing.
