Number 42 @ Lilliardsedge is a bright and modern 2 bedroomed lodge located in the beautiful Scottish Borders. The lodge is fully equipped to make sure you have a relaxing stay with us. The indoor living space is complemented by a fully enclosed decked area with seating perfect for al fresco dining and drinks. Situated in an elevated position on the Park with open views of the surrounding countryside and over the 7th hole you'll be able to relax and unwind from the minute you arrive. Lilliardsedge Holiday Park and Golf Course is approximately 43 miles from Edinburgh and 60 miles from Carlisle. Tweedbank train station is only 10 miles away. There is a regular bus service from the park entrance. The Park itself is set in 110 acres and includes a 9 hole golf course. There is an onsite shop, snack bar and well equipped children's play area. The family friendly Tavern restaurant and bar has recently been beautifully refurbished and offers a great menu selection to suit all tastes including a traditional Sunday carvery. There is also an outdoor terrace with plenty seating where you can watch your little ones enjoy the playpark. Access to Mausoleum, Lady Lilliard's Tomb, Dere Street.
A lovely lodge which made for a very comfortable stay. Communication from Jackie was great. We would thoroughly recommend a stay at Number 42!
We had a wonderful stay. Jackie was a superb host, super friendly and made check in etc very easy. The lodge was immaculate, with absolutely everything you could want. We would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
lovely wee place, perfect for what we wanted when doing some hill walking. Host was extremely friendly and flexible when we had some late changes to make. Thanks!
Park facilities -
There is a small onsite shop selling general convenience items. You can book a pay as you go round of golf and golf buggy at the shop too. There’s also a laundry, children’s play area and takeaway snack bar.
The onsite Tavern Restaurant and Bar has recently been beautifully refurbished and offers an excellent choice of meals with a separate children’s menu. There’s also an outside terraced seating area.

Local Towns
- St Boswells
The lovely village of St Boswells is less than 4 miles away and boast an award winning butcher, post office, local newsagent and R S McColl convenience store as well as a number of bespoke shops including a popular books shop with café which regularly hosts book signing events.
The Buccleuch Arms Hotel and Hunters Stables are both recommended for food and drink. A walk from site is highly recommended with the option to get the bus back.
- Jedburgh
The Historic Royal Burgh of Jedburgh about 10 minute drive from the site. Jedburgh has a number of local shops and cafés. The red sandstone Jedburgh Abbey is a key feature of Jedburgh as well as Jedburgh Jail and Mary Queen of Scot’s House. Jedburgh houses ones of only two Court buildings in the Borders.
- Kelso
Kelso is 12 miles away. Kelso has some lovely individual little country shops and is world renowned for its salmon fishing on the River Tweed. Floors Castle, the home of the Duke of Roxburghe is located in Kelso as is the very popular horserace course and ice rink.
- Melrose
The picturesque town of Melrose is 10 and a half miles away and is the birthplace of 7’s rugby. The triple peak Eildon hills are the most prominent landmark in the Scottish Borders. Melrose has some lovely little quaint shops and the Abbey contains the heart of Robert the Bruce.
- Galashiels
Galashiels is the largest of the Border towns with a population of around 15,000. It is just over 12 miles drive away. Galashiels has two large supermarkets (Asda and Tesco) as well as a Marks and Spencer at the retail park close by. There is also an Aldi store. There are lots of bespoke shops and award winning gardens in the town. Anyone wishing to visit Edinburgh can get the train from Galashiels train station for around £12.50 return per person. Children under 16 are free.
- Selkirk
Located 12 miles away, the ancient burgh of Selkirk stands high above the Ettrick and Yarrow Valleys. William Wallace was proclaimed Overlord of Scotland in the towns Forest Kirk and Sir Walter Scott was Sheriff for 33 years. Each year on the 2nd weekend in June, Selkirk holds its local common riding where the Standard Bearer and his followers ride the marches dating back to 1513 and the Battle of Flodden. Selkirk is well known for its local tweed mills and the Selkirk Bannock, a delicious fruit cake. The other Court building of only 2 left in the Borders is located here.
- Hawick
Hawick is the second biggest town in the Borders with a population of around 13,000. It is a 20 minute drive from here. Hawick is world famous for its fine quality Cashmere knitwear, and historic common riding. Hawick is also famous in rugby circles where the current captain of the Scottish rugby team comes from.
- Peebles
About a 45-minute drive from here, Peebles is no ordinary town with its spectacular scenery and local shops and cafés. You would not be the first to feel inspired by the artsy town, with John Buchan, the Scottish Novelist, choosing to make his home here. Glentress Mountain Bike Trail and Go Ape Adventure course is only a short distance from Peebles.
- Eyemouth and St Abbs
The historic town of Eyemouth is a small fishing village located 5 miles from the Border of England. It’s located an hours drive away and well worth a visit. It boasts a natural harbour, with narrow streets and vennels giving shelter from the sea. Fishing boats are often observed returning from early morning sailings out to sea to catch fresh fish to sell at the local shops and markets. Small villages such as Coldingham, St Abbs, Ayton and Reston are all within a short distance of Eyemouth. There is fine coastal scenery along he A1, with opportunities for bird watching, walking, fishing, diving, sea cruises around the coast and for the more adventurous speed boat (rib) trips.

As well as Glentress mentioned above, with 100 of square miles of beautiful country roads there are also a number of other cycling routes available across the Borders. Electric bike hire is available locally.
- Walking
There are some great walks around Lillardsedge and throughout the Scottish Borders area which boasts some spectacular scenery.
- Horse riding
Ian Stark’s Equestrian Centre is located at Selkirk, just a 10 minute drive away.
- Clay Pigeon Shooting
Braidwood Clays, Midlem, Selkirk is a 15-minute drive away.
- Fishing - on a number of lochs locally and the River Tweed, permit required.
