Ample social space with deck overlooking the river. Additionally, it offers a gazeebo and bbq and pool area, and small dock. Great for large families and friends! **LATE CHECKOUT FEE 250$ PER HOUSR AFTER CHECKOUT TIME 10:00 am ** Located in one of the most beautiful and exotic areas of the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, Reloj de Arena can accommodate a large family or several couples. The home is in the middle of a lush 2.5+ acre property, which ensures absolute privacy and tranquility. Howler monkeys, toucans, parrots, hummingbirds, sloths and many other varieties of birds can be seen daily. The property has a strategic location: 10 minute car drive to Puerto Viejo (bank, pharmacy, supermarket) or Manzanillo (cozy town with amazing restaurants), and 20 min drive to Cahuita National Park, and it is surrounded by several great restaurants and local shops. The property connects directly with the white sand beach of Punta Uva (1 minute walk through our private trail). Plenty of deck space which faces the river/canal to the north provides an ideal setting for barbecues, relaxing afternoon or just family time. With High speed internet in all rooms, its the perfect place to come to the Caribbean to do some WFH in the middle of the jungle, nothing like having your zoom meeting with the jungle and monkeys in the background. The property is surrounded by the river on the west, and the main road on the east, with the gazebo with a pool area perfect for cooling off. Every room has ceiling fans and the house is very well ventilated. In total there are 6 rooms and 5 bathrooms, including a deck overlooking the river, and a smart TV in the living room. The area is perfect for ecotourism since it is surrounded by lush rainforests; it is a nature lover's paradise!

Pasamos muy buen tiempo en la Casa Reloj de Arena, todo estuvo perfecto.
We had an amazing stay. The place is much bigger than it appears on the photographs. When we come back to this area we will stay here again. Really good value we thought. We didn’t have a car so relied on Tuk-tuk’s and taxis, though will get a car next time as much easier for supermarkets and days out
Wow! The location is amazing !!! It is such a great place!! The beauty of the beach in a jungle setting- so many creature encounters including sloths and monkeys. It is absolutely fantastic for multiple families and groups. We felt very safe and secure at this home, and of special note -my sister left her bag at a beach concert while we visited over Easter weekend and it was picked up by a local resident who contacted her recent contacts to get it returned back to us! A special mention to the young man who met us at bike rental shop down the road- Mini Super El Trueke- we are soooo grateful- THANK YOU sooo much for returning the purse!
Traumhafte Unterkunft, sehr zu empfehlen! Es war bereits unser zweiter Aufenthalt im Reloj de Arena und es hat uns auch diesmal super gefallen! Seit dem letzten Mal wurden einige schöne Modernisierungen gemacht, wie zB die Küchenmöbel und die Möbel auf der Terrasse. Service und Kommunikation sind perfekt. Die Lage ist super. Die Terrasse ist traumhaft und quasi von Dschungel umgeben, man hört und sieht viele Tiere. Es gibt einen privaten Fußweg zum Strand. Das Haus ist einfach und rustikal, aber hat alles was man braucht und ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Es ist in karibischen Stil gebaut, keine Fenster, nur Fliegengitter. Deshalb gibt es nur Ventilatoren. Bei unserem ersten Aufenthalt war das kein Problem für uns, aber diesmal war es sehr heiß, vor allem in den Zimmern ohne Deckenventilator und wir hätten uns eine Klimaanlage gewünscht. Aber dieser März ist einfach auch extrem heiß. Wir hatten ein kleines Problem, das Armando sehr kulant gelöst hat. Vielen Dank! Wir kommen wieder!
We saw more wildlife in the garden ( monkeys, sloths , toucans , iguanas ) than we did with hikes in the two national parks nearby . The caretaker was readily available with replacing the drinking water . We appreciated the cleaner coming in every three days and changing the linens and towels . The little shop across the road was really handy for essentials . Overall a wonderful experience .

We fully recommend renting vehicles to arrive and to take advantage of the area, the beaches national parks and tours! we have free parking up to 5 vehicles! even fits a mini van or mini bus!
