Sitting in the pretty Frome Valley in the village of Frampton, The Elbow is a delightful 16th-century thatched cottage, with an original Tudor plasterwork ceiling amongst its many characterful features. With its period features, The Elbow is full of charm and offers comfortable and cosy accommodation for up to four guests. On the ground floor the entrance porch leads in to a pretty sitting and dining room with a feature fireplace with an electric wood burning effect fire. Guests can enjoy relaxing on the comfortable sofas or the window seats whilst watching television or reading, and the dining table and chairs share this attractive open-plan room. There is a bright modern kitchen with doors out to the terraced garden and stairs leading from the kitchen to the two bedrooms, both with their own en-suite bathrooms. The cottage is ideally situated for walking and cycling, and exploring the stunning Jurassic Coast. There are numerous seaside towns and villages just a short drive away including Weymouth, Westbay, Lyme Regis, Lulworth and iconic Durdle Door. Nearby is the county town of Dorchester with its shops and cinemas, Roman Town House, Iron Age hill fort, museums and Thomas Hardy's Max Gate and Cottage. When staying at the cottage there are numerous quaint villages within easy reach including Cerne Abbas with its famous Giant, and a wide selection of local pubs and attractions within a short drive. A beautiful cottage with great amenities, well thought out for guests. Warm, cosy & clean. The upsatirs ensuite was delightful. As were the personal touches from the hosts, welcome pack, pretty lighting, clear instructions and a well presented kitchen in full working order . And, all in a wonderful setting.

The village of Frampton nestles in the Frome Valley amid rolling Dorset countryside, 6 miles north west of the county town Dorchester with its shops, restaurants, cinemas, museums, and Iron Age hill fort Maiden Castle.
The nearby village of Maiden Newton is only a five minute drive away, and has a good village store, a Spar and petrol station, a newsagent and cafe, a local pub and a restaurant.
Sydling St. Nicholas is a picturesque village only a short drive away, winding along the little Sydling Water with tiny connecting bridges to the ancient thatched cottages which line the banks and has a popular pub - The Greyhound, which has received national accolades for the quality of its food.
Other nearby attractive villages are Cattistock, Toller Porcorum and Cerne Abbas which is the home of the Cerne Giant an ancient naked figure sculpted into the chalk hillside. The village also has three popular pubs and a tea shop, an ancient abbey with pretty gardens and many beautiful cottages to admire.
The Elbow is ideally situated for easy trips to the popular nearby towns of Beaminster and Bridport, and the world famous Jurassic Coast , with its wonderful beaches such as Burton Bradstock, Cogden and Eype, is only a 25 minute drive away.
Eggardon Hill, an amazing Iron Age fort with incredible views over West Dorset, is a 10 minute drive away.
West Dorset is renowned for its lively, popular and eclectic food scene, and regular local food markets are held offering visitors a taste of the delicious local produce.
Mapperton Gardens is a short drive away from Frampton and well worth a visit.
