We had a really nice time as a small family (son, two years old) in Marteinn's house and stayed 5 nights. The house was easy to find thanks to his precise instructions and we were greeted personally (everything explained in detail, like the hotpool etc.). We immediately felt very comfortable and in love with die view and quietness. The house is incredibly beautiful and the location and the view are among the most beautiful we have seen in the world. The conservatory is a dream and the view from the hot pool (which we used every day with fresh geothermal water) was unreal. Our son enjoyed every second in the house. Everything was there, even toys and enough space to play. It was our third trip to Iceland and the location was perfect for exploring the south of Iceland. At the same time, we always had a wonderful retreat that felt like home.

This is a little slice of heaven! Was perfect for our trip to Iceland. It was me, my husband, and our toddler staying here. It was the BEST stay of our Iceland trip. Marteinn met us at check in and showed us around the cabin, gave local recommendations, and showed us how to use the hot tub. The cabin is at the top of a hill, there are a few other cabins lower in the hill but still felt very private! The hot tub was perfect to relax in after a long day of exploring. PERFECT central location for golden circle. (Playground 5 min up the road)The sun room was my FAVORITE for morning coffee and my daughter loved playing in this room. There were Lego’s, jenga blocks, and stuffed animals my daughter appreciated. Great coffee from the nespresso! Unfortunately, I lost my wedding ring while I was there but Marteinn has been very responsive about the situation and happy to help! (So if you find a ring it’s mine!) Marteinn is the definition of a superhost. Can’t wait to book our next stay!

This beautiful and peaceful cabin was a perfect fit for our family. Marteinn was a great host, helping us find the cabin in the dark and giving us a tour of how everything worked. The cabin is heated with geothermal water, which is plentiful and hot. The hot tub is like having your own private hot spring. Be warned that the hot water will come with a sulfur smell.

Excellent communication from the host! We had information start coming in several days before arrival with easy directions to find the home. We were greeted on arrival by Marteinn’s daughter, who was very welcoming and showed us around the home and had wonderful suggestions for the area. Beautiful views and a nice central location to day trip around Southern Iceland. We had an incredible week!

Such a beautiful location. Mountain with a small waterfall to the back. An amazing valley with 2 rivers in the front and wooded all around. There are other cabins in the area but it’s very private. It’s right on the golden circle so it’s easy to get on the road to sites. I was very happy with this place and would try to stay again my next time to Iceland. Finally, Martienn met us at the cabin when we arrived. He met with us, welcomed us, showed us around the house, and broke out a map to show us all the amazing things in the area. It made us feel very comfortable and taken care of. Fantastic personal touch.
