Great house and location. Being a little silly with the instruction it was made very clear by Fiona that we were being a pain.

Abbey Cottage was comfortable, clean and relaxing. The view meant that spent many hours sitting out the front of the cottage. The walking and local facilities were great, The Wild Hare fantastic, Parva Vineyard was a lovely outing and visits to Hay and various castles were enjoyable. Fiona’s hosting was fab! Thank you!

A lovely cottage in a great location opposite Tintern Abbey. Well equipped and very clean, and the owners are extremely welcoming. Lots of nice little touches, including a good bottle of wine to welcome us and the availability of iPlayer / Netflix etc. Excellent lockable bike storage which was vital for us. Very dog friendly too. The beds were all superkingsize and extremely comfortable. Washing machine and tumble dryer meant we could stay on top of laundry too. The only negatives were mainly things out of the owners’ control, such as neighbouring people and covid-related protocols, plus the price, which felt very expensive for what you got (but that probably reflects the way that UK holiday rental rates were artificially inflated by the pandemic). The garden is dog friendly up to a point - small back garden is secure but the larger front lawn is not, which is a shame. Overall it’s a great cottage, the location is perfect for the abbey, there are good pubs in walking distance, and the whole Wye Valley is easy to reach. We’d recommend it.

Fiona is an excellent host and was great in terms of communications before hand, meeting us outside at the agreed time. The cottage is gorgeous overlooking Tintern Abbey and brilliantly situated for the walks in the area. Our family of 4, plus a spaniel had loads of room! Brilliantly appointed cottage which has been renovated brilliantly. Will definitely come again.
