Stowaway, a lakefront cottage, located on Ambajejus Lake, is minutes from Baxter State Park, Mount Katahdin, the Katahdin Woods and Waters Monument and Millinocket. Stowaway functions like home while maintaining a 'camp' feel. Enjoy amenities that include a swimming area, paddle boat, four kayaks, an outdoor fire pit, picnic area, gas grill, full kitchen, cable TV, wifi and AC. The cottage is ideal for families and/or small reunions with 2 bedrooms and 2 loft areas providing beds for up to 12. Stowaway is a 1320 square foot cottage, nestled in a quiet cove on Ambajejus Lake, close to Baxter Park. The cottage boasts two bedrooms on the first floor and two loft areas, one accessed by a cat walk. Sit in the living area and read a book while overlooking the water or enjoy an amazing view of Mt Katahdin only a short paddle away. Four kayaks and a paddle boat are included with the rental.

Our stay here was great! The place looked as pictured, had everything we needed, and felt very private. The views were fantastic and we enjoyed having evening fires outside in the fire pit.
Stowaway is an idyllic spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful Maine experience. We love sitting by the lake and the gorgeous views. The cabin is always clean and comfy with plenty of space for all.
Fabulous in every way. Particularly loved and appreciated the kayaks and being right on the edge of a glorious lake where we saw a bald eagle on our first paddle. Thank you Jon and Stephanie!
The lakeside location was delightful and the cottage was clean and cozy.
The cabin is in a most lovely setting, and we really enjoyed kayaking, having a fire in the fire pit every night, and being able to see the Milky Way. We also enjoyed the proximity to the AT. Jon and Stephanie were very responsive.

The cottage is situated on 1.3 acres of land and is fairly private. Just a couple of miles away you can visit 3 restaurants. The Loose Moose Bar and Grill, Fredericka’s, and the River Drivers restaurants are within 2-3 miles. The Sawmill Bar and Grill and Scootic In are less than 10 miles away, in Millinocket. Additionally, the cottage is close to the North Woods Trading Post, New England Outdoor Center, several white water rafting outfits, and Baxter State Park.
Traveling is best by vehicle. Unless you are on the lake. Then we recommend one of our kayaks, our paddle boat or swimming. There is a public boat launch for those who have a boat and motor and the beach area in front of the camp is suitable for landing boats.
