This was such a unique stay. I wanted to have a quiet, secluded weekend away with my dog and this place delivered exactly what I wanted. It’s definitely off the grid, so you gotta be ready for that. The cabin and the property are amazing, the views are breathtaking, and the atmosphere is incredibly serene. It doesn’t take long to walk up to the farm house, so you don’t have to take your car every time. My dog and I had so much fun seeing the farm animals. We were joined by their sheep during several of our walks. I wish I was able to stay longer to hang out at the farmhouse and get to know the owners, but I unfortunately had to get back home by a certain time. I will say that the brief encounter I had with them was a nothing but a positive experience. They were so warm and welcoming. I definitely intend to go back one day and maybe try out one of their other listings. I highly recommend!
This was what my husband and I needed. The pictures don’t do this place justice. Extremely peaceful and the view with the sunset is beautiful. Highly recommend and we will be back again. Oh and definitely make sure you have 4wheel drive!
Beautiful and private property. Right on the river. Just as described. A couple of pieces of advice: 1) Arrive during daylight. The road down to the property is narrow and can be steep and bump at points. Also, best to have light to explore the cabin, outdoor kitchen and find outhouse. 2) Bring a good flashlight or ideally a headlamp 3) Bring charcoal for the grill
To say that I fell in love with this Airbnb and the entire experience is a complete under statement. If you are looking to run away and fall in love again, this is the cabin. No service at the cabin allows for a complete disconnect from the modern world and a step back in time. The river, the creek, the mountians, and the farm were all so breathe taking. I WILL be back. This was a very special stay for me.
Great location for some time away. Would highly recommend if you need some peace and quiet on the James River.
