Great stay! The house is close to the center of Davis and Canaan Valley. Erin was responsive, proactive, and provided helpful instructions. For example, the TV was not working for us, which was disappointing. But, Erin offered to come replace it and was extremely responsive. One note: the day before our booking, Erin messaged us that no dogs are allowed on the furniture (otherwise, guests incur a $50 fee). At that point, we weren’t going to change the reservation. The rule made the place feel less “dog friendly," especially because there is not much floor space for the dogs. I saw another review (admittedly, I should have read the reviews) with a similar complaint. Erin responded to that review saying that this rule is listed in the "additional rules" section of the listing. However, I do not see this rule in that section. We still had a GREAT stay! This is just a word of caution to other dog owners. Overall, we had a wonderful time in West Virginia and Erin was a great host!

Loved how close the location is to the town for restaurants and the Blackwater Falls State Park. Place was very clean. I don’t believe the cost is worth the space. Fortunately we just needed somewhere to rest our heads for the evening and we left the next day. Rooms were extremely hot, couldn’t get the tv to work so we went without, hard to connect to wifi info provided, the space for your dog to urinate/poop outside is super tiny near the home so I had to walk my dog to the park nearby in the pouring rain, either the long term renter or someone else came near the front porch at 1am and the light shined brightly into our room waking everyone in both rooms, not sure if long term renter but whoever was on other side of the room we were in either had a dog or some small animal that kept barking and running around making it hard to keep my dog quiet during quiet hours.

Erin's place looked exactly like the photos! Erin was super responsive - we communicated back and forth a few times times. She's easy to reach and get responses from! We found the mattress and pillows to be comfy. There are just 2 things I wish we'd realized when booking - there's no thermostat in the unit, so you can't control the temperature. Most people would have been happy with the temp (and there's additional heaters for those that run cold), but I'm one of the few people that like to sleep in what feels like the arctic, and it was pretty warm for me. The other thing is that Erin's place asks that dogs not get up on the furniture. I do wish we knew that before booking, as our dog likes to sleep with us and that was the whole point of us booking a pet-friendly unit. I'd suggest this rule be listed up front so that everyone knows what to expect, not received by message the day before check in.
